Historia
Sam Walsh had been missing for three years. His older sister, Beth, thought he was dead. His childhood friend Josh thought it was all his fault. They were the last two people to see him alive. Until now. Because Sam has been found, and he's coming home. Beth desperately wants to understand what happened to her brother, but her family refuses to talk about it - even though Sam is clearly still affected by the abuse he faced at the hands of his captor.

Well Done
Revisado: 07-09-24
Love the way that this author tackled heavy topics and content in a tasteful manner and fleshed out the emotional struggles of the primary characters. The voice acting was top-tier. Would definitely recommend.

The Omehi people have been fighting an unwinnable fight for almost 200 years. The lucky ones are born gifted. One in every 2,000 women has the power to call down dragons. Young, giftless Tau knows all this, but he has a plan of escape. He's going to get himself injured, get out early, and settle down to marriage, children, and land. Only, he doesn't get the chance. Those closest to him are murdered....

Unreal

Simply blown away with the creativity of this story and excellent delivery. I have read/listened to few books as detailed and well layered. Remained at the edge of my seat listening to the final two hours of this gem!

Historia
They said that the first generation of man was brought low by its appetites: for knowledge, for power, for wealth. They said mankind's voracity was so great, the Lord sent his own Daughter to bring fire and devastation to the world. The survivors were few, but over the course of centuries they banded together to form a new civilization - the Descendancy - founded on the belief that the mistakes of the past must never be repeated. Brothers Clive and Clover Hamill, the sons of a well-respected Descendant minister, have spent their lives spreading that gospel.

Historia
As a high school sophomore, Aiden Kelly's biggest problems should be his failing grades, his abusive father, being a self-proclaimed loner, or getting pummeled by the football team. Instead, Aiden's number one dilemma is a guy named Tony, a senior who seems to know all sorts of things that should be impossible to know. Oh, and he may also be a sociopath. So, you know: No. Big. Deal.

Kind of awful
Revisado: 09-28-20
This audible original is by my estimation 5 to 6 hours too long and featured pointless and arbitrary content that lent nothing to the main plot. The above word “plot” is used generously as this is an amalgam of poorly defined storylines and genres. It was not Sci-Fi enough to provide intrigue and not Young Adult enough to provide endearment to the characters. I found it to be a an utter bore. Kirby Heyborne performed well as always but not quite enough to save this miserable project. Take a hard pass on this one.

Historia
On the alien, sunless planet they call Eden, the 532 members of the Family shelter beneath the light and warmth of the Forest's lantern trees. Beyond the Forest lie the mountains of the Snowy Dark and a cold so bitter and a night so profound that no man has ever crossed it. The Oldest among the Family recount legends of a world where light came from the sky, where men and women made boats that could cross the stars. These ships brought us here, the Oldest say - and the Family must only wait for the travelers to return.

Can I get my credit back?
Revisado: 12-31-15
No discernible plot? Check. Boring, undeveloped characters? Check. Crude and borderline perverted sexual content? Check. Faked Boston/ British accents and childish sound effects from the cast? Check. Yup seems about right. This is truly the worst book I have ever taken in to my brain. Lunacy not literature; imbecilic not insightful. Dear author Chris Beckett, I will see you in Eden because it sure felt like the depths of heck to me!

Meanwhile Eliza can't wait to escape Seattle - and her reputation - and perfect-on-paper Anita wonders if admission to Princeton is worth the price of abandoning her real dreams.
