Historia
Quiet and aloof rock star Jake McKallister and outspoken, vivacious college student Casey Caldwell are polar opposites: Casey is bubbly and talkative; Jake is reclusive. Casey enjoyed a picturesque childhood; Jake’s childhood could only be described as a well-publicized nightmare. Jake’s life revolves around music, and Casey can’t carry a tune.

Historia
It's been months since ex-Navy SEAL Jack McCullen last saw his fiancee, Suz Molloy. He was on the other side of the world involved in a grueling black ops security mission for Iniquus Corporation at the behest of the US government. Mission fail meant a special flight home, and an ambulance ride to the hospital where Suz should have been waiting for him. Something is very wrong, and Lynx might be his only hope.

Josie Bianci was killed years ago on a train during a terrorist attack. Gone forever. It’s what her sister, Kit, an ER doctor in Santa Cruz, has always believed. Yet all it takes is a few heart-wrenching seconds to upend Kit’s world. Live coverage of a club fire in Auckland has captured the image of a woman stumbling through the smoke and debris. Her resemblance to Josie is unbelievable. And unmistakable. With it comes a flood of emotions - grief, loss, and anger - that Kit finally has a chance to put to rest: by finding the sister who’s been living a lie.

I thoroughly enjoyed When We Believed in Mermaids
Revisado: 01-07-21
This is the first book in a very long time that I had a hard time pausing to get things done. I couldn't wait for my rides to and from work so I could listen. Within this story, there are a lot if layers. While listening I felt every emotion. I was mad...I laughed and I cried. Well worth the time and money!

Historia
Terminated for inappropriate behavior. I couldn’t believe the letter in my hands. Nine years. Nine damn years I’d worked my butt off for one of the largest companies in America, and I was fired with a form letter when I returned home from a week in Aruba. All because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my friends - a private video made on my private time. Or so I thought.... I cracked open a bottle of wine and wrote my own letter to the gazillionaire CEO telling him what I thought of his company. I didn’t think he’d actually respond.

Loved it! (Spoiler included)
Revisado: 02-04-20
In reading the last couple of reviews, I almost did not buy this book, but I am very glad I did. I truly enjoyed this book from start to finish. I loved Ireland (the female lead), she is quirky and fun. Grant seemed like a very troubled, but nice guy. Their "introduction" to each other was funny and different, and proved that Grant had a sense of humor. I had no choice but to love both of them. The narrators were spectacular as always, you can't go wrong with Sebastian York and Andi Arndt. One reviewer mentioned a "trigger", which could be an issue to an individual who has lost an infant or has an issue processing an infant did not really die - this is just a book. The author needed to come up with a "situation" that would account for Grant's (male lead) issues. She certainly came up with a good story line that would account for that. This book will make you laugh and make you cry - what could be better?

Historia
Best-selling author Bryan Burrough recently made a shocking discovery: The small town of Temple, Texas, where he had grown up, had harbored a dark secret. One of his high school classmates, Danny Corwin, was a vicious serial killer. In this chilling tale, Burrough raises important questions of whether serial killers can be recognized before they kill or rehabilitated after they do. It is also a story of Texas politics and power that led the good citizens of the town of Temple to enable a demon who was their worst nightmare.

Excellent Listen....
Revisado: 04-25-19
I hate to use the word "enjoyed" this book, but the story was told in such a way that it was a very interesting listen. Unfortunately for me, it also hit a nerve that ruined the end of the book for me. I have family members in law enforcement, so please do not take this as someone who does not support law enforcement. However, I also have someone I know that was found to have a psychotic disorder, and then left unmedicated to make a mistake that caused this individual to end up in jail for over a decade. After Daniel Corwin's initial arrest, he was diagnosed with a severe mental disorder, and subsequently put on medication. When Danny leaves the jail, he was no longer medicated, nor did they mandate medication/mental health care as part of his probation. So what did they expect from Danny Corwin? Miraculous recovery? So, after this issue was revealed, even the title of this book bothered me. The system (and his parents) let Danny Corwin down. The system let every victim after he left prison for the first time down. His parents are at fault also for brushing it all under the rug, and pretending nothing really happened. Was Danny Corwin the "demon next door"? or was Danny Corwin another victim? This audio book tells a very haunting tale of all the horrible things Daniel Corwin did during his short life, but also paints a picture of a town, family and law enforcement that ignored many signs that there were severe issues with Daniel Corwin...treatable issues...the story left me sad for the victims and frustrated/mad for Daniel Corwin.

Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

I have read only a couple mysteries in the last decade. I am a romance girl. I am not sure why I even considered listening to this audiobook, but I am so very glad I did. It was absolutely amazing. The story line had all the twists and turns necessary to keep one interested. Definitely worth the time to listen/read! I did not see the end coming - AT ALL.

It started out like any other morning on the train - until I became mesmerized by the guy sitting across the aisle. He was barking at someone on his phone like he ruled the world. Who did the stuck-up suit think he was...God? Actually, he looked like a god. That was about it.

Surprised by how good this book was!!!
Revisado: 05-24-16
What was one of the most memorable moments of Stuck-Up Suit?
The most memorable part of the book was when Sariah decided she needed to break it off with Graham and Graham caught her with Marco.
What about Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell ’s performance did you like?
Both Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are very good at bringing a book to life. Both show emotion in their voices which makes the audiobook enjoyable to listen to.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I am big on happy endings and I was so worried that Graham would not figure out what Sariah had been up to with Marco. When he finally read the paper and figured out what Sariah had done - you could feel the emotion from the words read from the book.
Any additional comments?
This book is not overly emotional but still plays with your heart strings. A great book to read when you are looking for something for something relatively light.

OMG! THIS BOOK IS SOOO GOOD!
Revisado: 12-28-15
Would you listen to Withering Hope again? Why?
Yes, I know I will listen to it again. I already read the book once and then I noticed it had an audible version and decided to listen to it this time. I just put the book down after a two day roller coaster ride of emotion - and I am sobbing....
What did you like best about this story?
What I like best about the story is that Aimee (sp?) does not just fall for Tristan immediately. They live through a lot together and she fights the attraction because she is engaged to be married. Once she realizes her feelings, she still fights it a little, but once she makes the decision - there is not a doubt in her mind that she has made the right one. There is no tug-of-war with Tristan's feelings.
Which scene was your favorite?
There were many great scenes, but I have to say my favorite was when they were both fighting off the jaguar. I had read the book before and still had to stop what I was doing to listen to how it all transpired.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was sobbing at the end - a complete mess.
Any additional comments?
If I could give this book six stars - I would have. Seriously, if you have someone in your life that you love more than anything - you will understand everything these two people feel throughout this book. Great book!

Loved IT!
Revisado: 09-16-15
What did you love best about Kulti?
I loved how the story took a slight twist at the end. I don't want to give away too much in the review, but Sal thought things were one way and found out in the end that things were different than she thought. It was a nice little twist.
What other book might you compare Kulti to and why?
I would compare the book to Scoring Wilder by R.S. Gray. Both books were about women in soccer and struggled with coaching staff and fellow players.
What does Callie Dalton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Callie Dalton has the ability to bring her characters feelings into her narration. I found it especially funny when Sal was berating herself. A narrator that doesn't just read the book is always much more fun to listen to.
Any additional comments?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There was no sneaking around. The characters did what was right. Despite the rumors and hardships, they maintained their friendship despite the fallout.

What did you love best about Willing Captive?
Without giving away the ending - I will just say - that love ran deep despite a change in circumstances.
What does Angela Starling and Alastair Haynesbridge bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Angela Starling and Alastair Haynesbridge have great voices. They made the book very enjoyable to listen to.
