Historia
Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart: invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever. Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer; Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom; and Persephone, who must overcome personal tragedy to lead her people. The Age of Myth is over. The time of rebellion has begun.

ADS THROUGHOUT
Revisado: 12-26-23
WARNING: THERE ARE ADS THROUGHOUT THE BOOK.
I'm very upset there are ads. it was obnoxious, distracting, and unnecessary. People pay for products to keep ads away. My Audible home tab is already full of advertisements I get with my membership, showing me all sorts of books available. if you don't like this review, perfect, you'll get my point on how horrible it is for ads to be integrated in the story.
THERE ARE ADS THROUGHOUT THE BOOK.
The story itself is well written. Get the non graphic audio to be able to hear the story uninterrupted.
THERE ARE ADS THROUGHOUT THE BOOK.
The narrators were enjoyable, and the sound effects were *mostly* pleasant. There were times where the sound effects drowned out the narrator, making it near impossible to hear. An instance being during a scene near a waterfall. Another was when a character's ears were ringing. The sound was a high pitch ringing that lasted minutes, to where I had to fast forward and miss that part of the story it hurt so much (even at low volume).
THERE ARE ADS THROUGHOUT THE BOOK.
Needless to say, I will be returning this book unfinished. I'm not going to support ads in a paid product, when I get enough on my home tab.
Remember folks.... THERE ARE ADS THROUGHOUT THE BOOK....

a bit misinformed
Revisado: 04-22-22
There were a few things that were misinformed on mental conditions. The authors view to "need" a higher power of some sort felt pushy. It seems to have been written with opinions on topics not well educated in, then projected as fact.
The book has a few pieces of advice that were useful as well. My advice would be to take the positive pointers and filter out everything else.

Repeats words way to frequently
Revisado: 08-30-18
The story left much to be desired. The repetition of words is what ruined it.
Hope. Hope, hope, hope. She is here, she is here, she is here.
If you don't like continuous rapid fire use of the same word over the course of 30 seconds, pass on this book. The story definitely wasn't worth it.

Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

The narrator was great, and the story was interesting. I didn't see a problem with sounding like a robot, and will look forward to listening to others.

Decent, but repetitive and bland
Revisado: 02-25-18
The narrator was excellent.
The story however, didn't draw in. There was forbidden love, tons of "scoldings" from others, and a little action here and there.

The variety of narrators is a pleasant treat
Revisado: 10-19-17
There were many talented narrators who pulled this book together. It kept the story entertaining with the change in auditorial stimulation.
The story was appealing, with only a few holes in the plot. Nothing you can't get past and enjoy.
There are diverse character backgrounds, relationships amongst others, and personalities. Thus, the book doesn't get stale with "clones".
If you've read the first book, you will already know there is some detailed death and violence. This is just a disclosure for those who may be curious.

The story is mediocre, the narration is miserable
Revisado: 10-12-17
I continuously turned off the book after 10 minutes, unable to handle the defined anunciation on each word for longer. I later started up the book, and my husband mentioned how unpleasant she was. The narrator *tried*. She attempted male voices, but failed.
The story was ok. I'm not sure if it would have seemed better with a different narrator.

Repetitive in its length, becoming predictable
Revisado: 10-06-17
The main characters were entertaining, the side characters were alright. After so many hours, there was repetition and predictability.
One way the author explained the world was through character's telling stories. These were quite drawn out. For those who like intricate details on the world, this may be for you. For those who get bored of the mundane, you may want to pass or fast forward.
The narrator was great. He used voice infliction, character voices, and seemed made for this story.
Overall, it was a decent story.

Historia
Eunsun Kim was born in North Korea, one of the most secretive and oppressive countries in the modern world. As a child, Eunsun loved her country...despite her school field trips to public executions, daily self-criticism sessions, and the increasing gnaw of hunger as the countrywide famine escalated. By the time she was 11 years old, Eunsun's father and grandparents had died of starvation, and Eunsun too was in danger of starving. Finally her mother decided to escape North Korea with Eunsun and her sister.

A difficult journey into an eye opening experience
Revisado: 03-05-17
This is an interesting experience from a girl who went throughr the ringer and persevered through it all. Hardship doesn't begin to describe her youth, along with many other North Korean families.
I was curious about what North Korea was like from someone who lived there. Eunsun touches on it a few times, but doesn't go deeply into it. This book is more of her trials of survival, which is still captivating.
She kept this book pretty neutral, not delving into too many gory details. I personally would feel comfortable letting a young teen listen to this. There are many dark moments, but if a child could live it, I'd say a teen could be informed. The worst of it for me was the public execution description she saw as a small child. That was a little too detailed.
If you can handle Anne Frank, this should be fine. Though this has a happier ending.
