Historia
Gibby's older brothers have already been to war. One died there. The other came back misunderstood and hard, a decorated killer now freshly released from a three-year stint in prison. Jason won't speak of the war or of his time behind bars, but he wants a relationship with the younger brother he hasn't known for years. Determined to make that connection, he coaxes Gibby into a day at the lake: long hours of sunshine and whisky and older women.

I love John Hart
Revisado: 02-09-22
Frankly I love anything that John Hart writes . The people are so well written that I can almost anticipate what they would think and what they would do in certain situations.
I love how the characters are slowly revealed as noble, and all too human with normal human foibles.
I could’ve done it without some of those gruesome scenes but I’m pretty good at fast forwarding. The book was beautifully read and I really really enjoyed it

a darker Neil Gaiman
Revisado: 11-04-20
I loved this book! I have yet to be disappointed with Neil Gaiman's work and this book is no exception. I will say it's a lot darker then his usual work but he wrote it quite well. 100% would recommend!

I rarely write reviews
Revisado: 11-15-18
I rarely write reviews but was inspired by this wonderful series and am now going on to the 3rd installment.
I admit I'm a sucker for a hero against all odds and this one didn't fail me in the slightest. One thing I really liked was when things went south for the protagonist we didn't have to listen to every horror inflicted upon him. I usually fast forward in these instances. Nice not to have to.
Another great thing was the comradely with the troop of great coats. They were funny and fully fleshed characters.

I really couldn't stand the reader
Revisado: 02-27-15
What made the experience of listening to The Black Prism the most enjoyable?
Once I sort of figured out the colors I really enjoyed the story about the people.
What didn’t you like about Cristofer Jean’s performance?
I didn't like it at all. He was way too stilted, I consider this to be one of the more poorly read books that I've listened to.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I loved the twist midway, Seeing as I don't want to write a spoiler I won't say what it was. But it was really a fun one.
Any additional comments?
I'd love to continue the series but I'll buy the book and read it myself. I almost stopped listening to the book but the story was so good I had to continue.

Another Winner
Revisado: 08-13-12
If you could sum up Broken Harbor in three words, what would they be?
enthralling moody dark
What other book might you compare Broken Harbor to and why?
Iron Mountain by John Hart. I love both these writers. One really gets absorbed by the protagonist in that he has something dark in his past. You know it's going to come out in some awful way. There is always the feeling of something about to happen and trying to second guess the writer makes for a really fascinating read.
What about Stephen Hogan’s performance did you like?
I loved it. I love a reader that is so adept that one knows who's talking by the slight changes in his voice.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The confession, It was so plausible.
Any additional comments?
I love Tana French

I was delighted in finding this author and promptly bought all her books. I loved the atmosphere of her novels. Her characters are really well done and I feel that I'm missing friends when the books end.

Loved It!
Revisado: 05-02-11
I love stories like this. great characters really fleshed out. The protagonist is always keeping you off guard and I'd really like to hear more about him. I wanted the big question answered though.
I could not put this one down and it got me through a grueling half marathon and that is saying a lot!
