Pulled me in but wanted more.

I am interested in Zeckendorf, having heard a little bit about him on a business podcast. I searched for a book on him, but unfortunately they are no biographies on him available on Audible. This little 12 minute review of his out-of-print autobiography is an interesting teaser, and I liked the narrator’s voice/ cadence, but I don’t know how to get the next episode (if there is one). I would likely have given a better rating if the podcast episode was longer/ more in-depth. Instead, it left me searching for more info. I guess I’ll just have to buy the print autobiography.

Perhaps you are sitting in cash, scared to get back into the stock market. But you are also unwilling to lock up your money in a CD that pays next to nothing. Covered calls are a great way to slowly ease back into the market, while starting to generate some income. This conservative strategy is also often used by buy-and-hold investors to generate extra income from stocks in their long-term holdings. Even if you know nothing at all about trading options, this guide will quickly bring you up to speed.

I’m so grateful to have stumbled across this book from Matthew Kratter. I’ve been interested in learning to trade options for a bit now, and have watched several YouTube videos as well as a couple other books on the subject. This one is so short, simple, to the point- I love it. I was able to listen on an afternoon walk and went home and ordered the paper book version for reference, Then I went ahead and ordered several of his other books as well. He’s clearly experienced at trading and has practical strategies as well as recommendations for resources so that his readers may learn more. Nice voice too- I listened twice. I reached out by email to thank him for writing these books (he encourages the reader to do so if they have questions or comments), and he responded. Great author, great book on what could be a complicated subject, but which becomes accessible via the lessons of the book. Thanks Matt Kratter!

Technological change is reshaping the economy in a way not witnessed since Henry Ford introduced the assembly line. A little more than ten years ago, only two of the ten most valuable publicly traded companies in the world were digital enterprises—today, they comprise eight of the top ten. Investors around the world are struggling to understand the Digital Age and how they can use the stock market to profit from it.

Such a good book.

Listened to this one twice. Adam Stessel looks closely at how we should most accurately evaluate today’s companies for future growth and success- which is different from how we might have evaluated companies in previous decades. I have listened to many investing books, and this is among the best. Stessel has a clear writing style that is easy to absorb, and offers a wide variety of interesting examples to support his thesis that evaluating the best businesses today requires nuanced and deep understanding of our current, technologically influenced world . Excellent, 5 star book.
