Historia
Wuthering Heights is Emily Brontë's only novel, first published in 1847 under the pseudonym Ellis Bell. A work of considerable power and intensity set in the Yorkshire moors in the late 18th century - the bleak and wild moorland often reflected in the natures of the characters. Unsettling at times, the novel is a heady mix of gritty realism, romance, Gothic horror, and tragedy.

Great thanks to TheOnlineStage.com for this fully realized dramatization of a classic. Excellently cast w/notable performances by Rob Goll & Lillian Rachel I devoured it in 36 hrs, only pausing to sleep at my husband's insistence, as it played like a fully fleshed radio show than straight audiobook. You'll not be sorry for giving it a listen!

Historia
Lakshmi is a thirteen-year-old girl who lives with her family in a small hut on a mountain in Nepal. Though she is desperately poor, her life is full of simple pleasures, like playing hopscotch with her best friend from school and having her mother brush her hair by the light of an oil lamp. But when the harsh Himalayan monsoons wash away all that remains of the family's crops, Lakshmi's stepfather says she must leave home and take a job to support her family.

Hope Against Hope
Revisado: 08-30-16
Mercifully, less brutal and viscerally told than it might have been, this is an engaging tale of true life inhumanity and the hope that dares survive such circumstances.
