Credible Hostorical Fiction!

I always appreciate learning about historical cultures and famous individuals. I especially appreciate how Tessa Afshar includes a love story without making the whole story about them and without endless descriptions of their eyes :)

Historia
As Christ’s chief apostle, the account of Simon Peter’s discipleship - as well as his faltering faith - has been well chronicled. Yet there is much more to the story, for Peter’s experiences did not begin and end during the mortal ministry of Jesus Christ. They spanned a lifetime of devotion. In this compelling novel from acclaimed author Toni Sorenson, the life of Peter is related as never before - first as Simon, a stalwart young man whose trust in the Lord sets him on a path of triumph and tragedy, and later as Peter, a powerful leader of the church.

Ok - but decided not to finish
Revisado: 02-27-25
It was ok but pretty slow moving. When I realized I still had hours to go quit after a part in the story that I knew wasn’t Biblically accurate.

If you knew sudden destruction would fall upon the earth in the next 24 hours, how would you spend your last moments? In The End of the Age, New York Times best-selling author John Hagee uses Scripture as a guide as he counts down the prophetic minutes through events that must occur before that fateful moment when every individual must face God on Judgment Day.

Revisado: 11-15-24
I love historical fiction- when it’s feasible- and put it aside when it’s not. I think both of John Noble’s books intriguing, plausible, educational (culturally) and interesting. I will be anxiously watching for the rest of Joseph’s story through the mind of John Noble:)

Revisado: 10-14-24
I read a LOT of historical fiction- Im very picky about it not conflicting with actual scripture. I only had one complaint (why avoid Elijah running after Mt Carmel?). He challenged me to consider possibilities beyond my normal thinking. This is my first John Noble novel - it won’t be my last.

Interesting background story for Martha Lazarus Mary
Revisado: 09-14-24
I thought the story presented an interesting and plausible scenario for the first half but by the end I almost turned it off.
One big turn off was how it ended trying to mix a love story with Jesus last week on earth, including the crucifixion -
