Under v Micro Manage a worthwhile distinction
Revisado: 10-01-24
Great start with well described and analysed concepts... then, imho, drifted into the too theoretical and impractical.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

At times awkward but always relatable
Revisado: 09-25-24
Being familiar with some of the story and much of the locale I could not help but occasionally cringe as I felt that poetic licence was stretched just a little far. Having said that, if the depictions are completely accurate then cringe one must! Sad, funny, will stay in my library. Thank you.

Outstanding performance | A deeply disturbing book
Revisado: 10-08-22
I do not know whether I have absorbed this publication as it was meant to have been, however, I found it distinctly disturbing and at times depressing. The subject, subject matter and subjects all profoundly and cleverly intertwined with an outstanding narration by Trevor White. Will probably listen again one day (when I am brave enough).

Historia
Imagine if The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy were a real, practical book about the mysteries of the universe.... The Universe in Your Hand takes us on a wonder-filled journey to the surface of our dying sun, shrinks us to the size of an atom and puts us in the deathly grip of distant black holes. Along the way you might come to understand, really understand, the mind-bending science that underpins modern life, from quantum mechanics to Einstein's theory of general relativity.

Not for the faint hearted.
Revisado: 09-19-19
The author promises to carry the listener through, what to most, is rather complex. In my case he virtually delivers. I know that I will have to listen to the book again to give him the opportunity to completely fulfil his promise. That, will be a pleasure.

Having listened to this performance I can only regret that this audiobook was not available when I originally read the book (decades ago to be fair).

Historia
'Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird.' A lawyer's advice to his children as he defends the real mockingbird of Harper Lee's classic novel - a black man charged with the rape of a white girl. Through the young eyes of Scout and Jem Finch, Harper Lee explores with exuberant humour the irrationality of adult attitudes to race and class in the Deep South of the '30s.

Sissy Spacek has taken a really special work to even greater heights. A tremendous way to broaden the scope and understanding of a classic for a mere reader. Wholeheartedly recommend.
