Historia
Black Americans have long been shackled to the Democrats. Seeing no viable alternative, they have watched liberal politicians take the Black vote for granted without pledging anything in return. In Blackout, Owens argues that this automatic allegiance is both illogical and unearned. She contends that the Democrat Party has a long history of racism and exposes the ideals that hinder the Black community’s ability to rise above poverty, live independent and successful lives, and be an active part of the American dream.

WOWOWOW!
Revisado: 10-29-22
WOW! As another black woman and strong believer. and follower of Jesus Christ, I have to say that I honestly agree with most of what Candace had to say! First, I ❤️ how articulate she is! 2nd, most of her views are FACTS and we all know that the truth usually hurts, but she was brave enough to put it out there! What a change black people would make, if we all or at least most of us gave Republicans a try for a better life for us, especially seeing how much we have not grown for the better after all these dang years - "What do we have to lose"! I voted Republican once, for George W, but am considering it again in the upcoming election, especially after listening to this book. Thank you for the foundation that you provided with every story, which is so important to understand how and why you have come to the choices you've made. Candace, I honestly believe that when God calls us to do or say something, not many people will stand with you, but He will always cover you! I plan to be a part of the "blackout"! Much continued success to you!
