Great mix of mystery and suspense!
Revisado: 09-10-22
This is a great read for a vacation or a nice weekend escape. The audio reader does a great job and the story has a good mix of twists and turns to keep you cheering for the solution to the, "Who Done It?" I liked the passage of time in the storyline to see the characters' personalities over a lifetime and how the tragedy impacts them. Read it!

Historia
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

Great read with lovable characters
Revisado: 09-15-20
I enjoyed learning of the struggle of the people of the 1930s which gives pause to the plight of those facing exceptional challenges originating from where, when and how they are born. Imagine not having food nor books! This is a lovely story with a narrator that brings the characters to life.
