Historia
I’m Logan Lewis: popular, charming, and athletic. All the girls love me. Yep, I’ve really got it made. Then I find myself in danger of failing my chemistry class and losing my sports scholarship. I know the only person who can save me is the smartest science tutor on campus. Theo Reign is brilliant. He’s also cold, antisocial, moody, and mean. He looks at me like he hates me, but touches me like he wants me. There’s something just beneath the surface that draws me in. His secret pain mirrors my own, and I suddenly find myself craving him.

sweet and frustrating
Revisado: 01-04-24
the premise seemed like it could be pretty funny. turned out to be an almost but not really enemies to lovers situation and turned into the fluffiest sappiest thing ever but in a good way. frustrating though because like usual the trope here really came down to lack of communication and over use of anxiety/past "trauma" being the issue.
spoiler below!!!!!
I honestly have the biggest issue with the fact that somehow the author decided that bullying was a me traumatic issue with over of the MCs than literally taking his only supportive and active parent off of life support. that information is just dropped into the readers lap in a tit for tat secret sharing session but somehow I'm supposed to believe that being bullied for being smart was the worst this guy has gone through and it was the string along plot point. that was honestly disappointing even though the characters where cute and I would have loved to see more of Logan's family.

Maddox - The reason I rarely go home is three simple words: I'm a liar. When the pressure to marry my childhood sweetheart became too much, I told her I was gay and then fled to New York like my ass was on fire. Now, five years later and after a drunken encounter, I find myself invited to her wedding. And I have to bring my boyfriend-the boyfriend who doesn't exist because I'm straight. At least, I think I am. Meeting the guy I'm bribing to be my boyfriend for the weekend makes me question everything about myself.

Amazing listen, totally recommend!
Revisado: 08-31-23
This book was a refreshing change from the last two titles I have gotten lately. Funny, sweet, and dynamic I nearly forgot to take a break during my 8 hour shift at work because I was too busy listening.
Maddox and Damien are both amazing characters and go through quite a bit of growth throughout the story. There is plenty of ups and downs to keep the narrative interesting, but the conflicts aren't drawn out in that annoying way where everything is twelve chapters of "I over heard half your conversation and now I'm butthurt and too upsetti spaghetti to talk, coz I'm a wittle baby-adult-child."
I sent this book to my friends to encourage them to listen. It's amazing. But someone really needs to teach Stacey to quit her shenanigans, her pranks are insane.

okay, first thing,
IF YOU ARE AN AGE PLAYER OR LITTLE DO NOT GET THIS BOOK!
It will only upset you. the jarring snaps between "little space" time and violence is very upsetting, and I wasn't even in little space.
second, I started to listen to this book after reading the (limited) reviews here. The book had lots of high recommendations! it must be good right? wrong.
the book is trash. grammar? don't know her. shifting points of view? horribly done. sex? everywhere, but sexy?? well if you think a vagina being referred to as a leaking gash is sexy then this one is for you!!
the two plotlines that are smashed into one would be really difficult for amazing writing. this isn't even "okay" writing. I tried to overlook it because there aren't many abdl audiobooks in the first place, I even overlooked (and fast forwarded through) the violent parts that made me sick. I don't think I have given any other book as much grace and wiggle room as I tried to give this one. then the "author" decided to bring in dogs just to be sure and add the drama of one getting hurt, likely killed. dunno I didn't bother to continue from there.
the writing isn't good enough to excuse shooting a dog sweetie. I felt bad that the narrator had to read this, and she was paid.

Wendell "Wen" Darling lives in a world of shoulds and musts. Left to care for his brother and sister by his dull drudge of a father and wacko irresponsible mother, he suppresses his creativity, slaving in an ad agency 70 hours a week, letting his no-talent supervisor take the credit. Then his bosses blow the campaign for their biggest client and Wen gets a chance to shine - but only if he can find the artist who painted a wild, glorious wall of graffiti in the subway. Hiding behind a pillar at 2:00 a.m., Wen comes face-to-face with the embodiment of his opposite - Peter Panachek.

tries too hard.
Revisado: 08-28-23
I will be returning this book after only listening for about 30 minutes to an hour. I wanted to give it a try because I love the rest of the series so much, but it just really misses the mark.
first off, the reason Wendell is looking for an artist is a need for an ad campaign. sure, that's fine whatever. the fact that it's a peanut butter ad simply can't be overlooked in a peter pan remake. it's ridiculous. I tried to ignore that, but then when Peter actually shows up? I couldn't even get through the description of him without just giving up. this one just does not hold up to the rest of the series which is a huge shame.

Dhammapada means "the path of dharma", the path of harmony and righteousness that anyone can follow to reach the highest good. This classic Buddhist scripture is a collection of vivid, practical verses gathered from direct disciples who wanted to preserve what they had heard from the Buddha himself. Easwaran's translation of this classic Buddhist text is the best-selling translation in the US.

well written but irritating
Revisado: 01-03-23
Buddhism. one of the largest religions in the world. Buddha. "loved by nearly 1/4 if of the world population" said by the author himself.
Yet STILL nothing in this book seems to be able to just Be. everything is - so far in the beginning - constantly undermined by how similar it is to Christianity or how Buddha is similar to Jesus. it's so frustrating that the author couldn't seem to just present information as-is but instead continues to compare it to a religion that is arguably not even as old.
just let me learn about the religion and history of something else without throwing in Christianity.

Ash Summers is the most beautiful guy I’ve ever seen. He’s also a total d*ck, and I hate him more than anything. That feeling is mutual, by the way, as he does nothing but torment me. Oh, and did I mention he’s my stepbrother? Messing with Ash is all fun and games until our parents force us to room together during our final year at college. Sharing an apartment with him only makes me hate him more. Until it doesn’t.

pretty good, minor complaints. will read again
Revisado: 11-02-22
funny and would be a page turner if I had a physical copy. Ash and Jules are pretty rounded characters and while there is plenty of adult fun time scenes and more modern slang that might be alienating for some readers/listeners this is an all around feel-good and steamy read.
my only complaint is that the ending didn't really make a whole lot of sense.
**spoilers**
the sudden shift of the parents trying to "understand* and "make amends" with their sons was... unrealistic and honestly made way too abruptly. I can understand wanting a "happily ever after" type ending but if that's what the author was going for then there should have been more active relationship building and communication between parents and offspring. the parents were demonized the entire book long and then suddenly there is this shift in the two step mothers that is just hastily explained away (Jenna) or not explained at all (crystal). meanwhile both father's are just jackasses all the way through but I guess your supposed to ignore that part.
This book sort of reads like the author wasn't sure if they wanted an erotica or a romance book and kind of smashed the two together. perhaps they had to meet a deadline and they hurried the ending. either way it would have been even better as a longer book with a better version of how the conflicts are going to be resolved. Even if it wasn't finished by the end of the story and was still to be left open, it would have made more sense to show how the families started to work together to be better towards Ash and Julian.

Historia
Toby Andrews is cooking up more than a little trouble for Evan Blankenship. Because of pranks, indiscretions, and plain bad timing, his ability to work in New York's temples of haute cuisine is a thing of the past. When Toby's sister tells him he should look up an acquaintance whose restaurant - Le Potiron - is failing, he doesn't have much choice. Pretty soon he's in bed, literally, with a cook who hates people, trying to save a restaurant that only the neighborhood mothers seem to love, and on the verge of another - possibly painful - lesson or two.

Revisado: 11-01-22
terrible sister. terrible circular storyline. it ends the way it begins, or at least I assume so because the moment it was opening night and the stupid sister flakes and has toby pick up her kid to take to work with him AGAIN after getting fired. legit just put it on double speed to get the finished mark and came to review. don't bother. wouldn't have listened all the way if I had paid for this instead of it being included with my membership or whatever.

funny at first but... Book Was Returned.
Revisado: 03-22-22
This book started out pretty great. It was funny in some parts and the adult rated scenes were steamy enough to bring heat to my face. However, it's written in such a disgustingly sappy way it sort of made me want to vomit. The instant love connection was one thing, but the sudden onslaught of disgustingly sweet so-called love/affection was so over-done I couldn't stand it -- or take the book seriously. I had to return it around the half-way point.
I'm also fairly certain this was a book written by a woman, for women, to fetishize male relationships. Usually I will listen to just about anything Nick J. Russo narrates, but this book missed the mark so completely I couldn't even pretend that it wasn't just about fetishizing MM relationships. As an enby(Non-binary person) in an LGBT relationship, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth knowing that this was (likely) written purely for that context.

meh...
Revisado: 11-08-21
the romance part of the story is cute. the characters actually talk to each other and there isn't stupid drama that could be fixed with a three minute conversation. the narrator did a good job as well.
But that's about the best i can say. the abo(alpha, beta, omega) thing is a strange concept that originated from fan fiction and has made it's way to published stories. I wasn't a huge fan then and I'm still not a huge fan now. completely eradicating females from an entire race is pretty weird, and the way things are written can get pretty icky. it feels more like a fetishizing of m/m relationships than anything else.
