Historia
Twenty-five years ago, Neil Howe and the late William Strauss dazzled the world with a provocative new theory of American history. Looking back at the last 500 years, they’d uncovered a distinct pattern: modern history moves in cycles, each one lasting roughly 80 to 100 years, the length of a long human life, with each cycle composed of four eras—or “turnings”—that always arrive in the same order and each last about 25 years. The last of these eras—the fourth turning—was always the most perilous, a period of civic upheaval and national mobilization.

Historia
Shaman, meaning "intermediary between spirit and the natural world", has become a much overused word in the West. It's not a job title one can give oneself, and in indigenous societies a shaman is usually born to this role. Ya'Acov Darling Khan is one of the few Westerners who have been acknowledged as shamans by indigenous elders or teachers. After being hit by lightning, Ya'Acov took a 30-year journey into the heart of shamanism to seek his own healing and to learn how he could serve others with the wisdom he acquired through his experiences.

Revisado: 01-08-24
Captivated my curiosity and growth in many directions while being well-written and spoken. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn about healing, shamanism, Indigenous wisdom and how to integrate them into daily 21st century life.

Historia
Sacred Economics traces the history of money from ancient gift economies to modern capitalism, revealing how the money system has contributed to alienation, competition, and scarcity; destroyed community; and necessitated endless growth. Today, these trends have reached their extreme - but in the wake of their collapse, we may find great opportunity to transition to a more connected, ecological, and sustainable way of being.

Beautiful interdisciplinary book with a treasure trove of wisdom by one of my favorite 21st century authors
Revisado: 12-26-23
Once again am impressed by Eisenstein and his 21st century leadership. He not only creates books and wocio-economic approaches that are aligned with Indigenous wisdom and ecologies, yet can also help us all heal and grow together. I admire how he is a rare individual who leads by example and recognizes that his works are made possible by thousands of contributions over human, ecological and spiritual history. Thanks Charles 🙏

Historia
In a time of social and ecological crisis, what can we as individuals do to make the world a better place? This inspirational and thought-provoking book serves as an empowering antidote to the cynicism, frustration, paralysis, and overwhelm so many of us are feeling, replacing it with a grounding reminder of what’s true: we are all connected, and our small, personal choices bear unsuspected transformational power.
