Not quite what I expected.
Revisado: 02-12-22
Sci Fi horror is a tough genre to find, and harder yet to find a good one. There's decent elements in this story but the narrator is really over the top, and with earbuds at times painful. There's a lot of hysterical yelling, screaming, and panicked fast paced speaking which forced me to raise and lower the volume pretty often. The attempts at male voices more often sounds like someone with a bubble stuck in their throat while speaking but eventually I got used to it. The story bounces around and spends a great deal of time with the MC remembering past pains/horrors getting to the point of "Yes, ok, I get it." at times. It's not a terrible story but it's not great either. Only mild regret purchasing this story.

Great as always with a minor hiccup
Revisado: 11-13-21
The usual fun formula bot Cain is found here much like the previous books so if you liked the others you'll enjoy this as well. Now that being said there is one aberration in the usual excellent performance around the two hour mark. For a couple chapters the narration takes a nose dive and for a few moments I thought Cain was an entirely different character. Only thing I could imagine was some portion of the recording was lost and they had to do a quick and dirty retake to patch in as afterwards the quality returns to normal.

Historia
Freeman is a genius with an uncommon mixture of memory, intelligence and creativity. He lives in a worldwide utopia, but it was not always so. There was a time known as the Grind—when Freeman’s people lived as slaves to another race referred to simply as “Master.” They were property. But a civil rights movement emerged. Change seemed near, but the Masters refused to bend. Instead, they declared war. And lost. Now, the freed world is threatened by a virus, spread through bites, sweeping through the population.

Incredibly Mediocre
Revisado: 10-08-21
I usually love Robinson's work but man not this time. Both characters and story are unusually dull for Robinson and was only tolerable with Bray narrating. I'd say the story only gets genuinely interesting during the last 40 minutes.

Weakest of the lot.
Revisado: 08-25-21
I've been binging Jeremy Robinson at work over the last few days and I love his light hearted approach to stories with genuinely likeable but vulnerable characters. So far this story is the weakest of the 5 books I've gone through. I still liked it but it was lacking something compared to the rest, but Bray shores up those weaknesses a good deal. However I hope the man doesn't have to attempt too many more japanese accents.

Light Hearted Adventure Through Space and Time
Revisado: 08-07-21
I'm quickly becoming a Jeremy Robinson fan and already a strong fan of R.C Bray. The subject matter is a bit heavy but it's delivered in a way that it doesn't weigh the adventure down. This is a story about loyalty and a bit of self discovery tied together with a air of light humor throughout. You may see 1* reviews regarding a so called political agenda, if that agenda is don't be a bigot, then I'm all aboard.

Nothing you probably haven't heard or seen, but RC Bray lifts the story with his performance. Cliche to a fault and a bit oddly paced but still entertaining none the less.

Ok, not great, but ok.
Revisado: 11-14-20
A decent enough performance but found the primary protagonist to be a bit dull to listen to. The story just kind of meanders around without the forward momentum found in the Day by Day series so I was feeling a bit unfulfilled by the end.
