Historia
It was the only water for miles in a vast, sun-blasted desert where water meant survival. So Logan Cates naturally headed for Papago Wells. But he wasn't the only one. Fleeing the fierce Churupati and his Apache warriors, other travelers had come there, too. And when the Apaches found them, they began a siege as relentless and unforgiving as the barren land - and just as inescapable.

Most entertaining!
Revisado: 05-25-22
An excellent concept and setting for the interplay of L'Amour's characters. Delivery and plot are fast moving, and the outcome and denuement are satisfying to the longtime fan of these works. I enjoyed the Sacketts series and many other of his novels, but this one is a concise piece which really makes the reader/ listener pay attention without the need to follow long and deep connections across continents and time. would be a great intro for new Lamour fans.

Disgusting Revision

Strong, descriptive storytelling!
Revisado: 01-24-18
But Conrad's adventure takes place in the mind of his protagonist, and the frightening jungle, filled with the expected spears and drums and blood is purely the brilliant and sensitively wrought backdrop to this exploration of the psyche of the Europeans who dared to go to Africa and exploit its people and resources. This one is,as the title promises, extremely dark, but not long enough, and I wanted more. Branagh is in excellent form, and he reads quite in the writer's voice, which is the benchmark of the best narrators!

Elvis Gives a Piece of Himself to the World
Revisado: 03-10-17
I simply appreciate the chance to learn about Elvis and his life. He brings humor and humility in this tale of encounters with notable people from his life as a working musician. The overriding theme is his introduction to the world of music by his working musician father, which grows into a hugely varied career making music with numerous surprising collaborators, poignant moments abounding. Elvis ties the trajectory of his life to his gradual understanding of his father's world in light of the successful run Elvis himself achieves, but makes it plain that he revere's his Dad's tenacity and ethic for the art above all.
