Historia
It's 2040. After decades of research, scientists of the European Union believe that they have at last conquered humankind's most pernicious foe: old age. For the first time, technology holds out the promise of not merely slowing the aging process but actually reversing it. The first subject for treatment is 78-year-old philanthropist Jeff Baker. After 18 months in a rejuvenation tank, Jeff emerges looking like a 20-year-old. And the change is more than skin deep. From his hair cells down to his DNA, Jeff is 20 - with a breadth of life experience.

If you enjoy sex, drugs, and drunk teens . . .
Revisado: 10-16-16
I like Hamilton's other books and thought this would be good background for the other stories in the series, but it proved to be a lot of sex and getting high. It is basically about an 80(?) year old man who gets the rejuvenated body of a 25 year old and then cannot control himself. He even takes his son's girlfriend. That is the point I stopped the book.
I found it depressing.

Interesting but unfulfilling
Revisado: 05-01-15
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. It was an interesting plot, but it was not developed enough and the characters were flat.
Would you be willing to try another book from Murray McDonald? Why or why not?
Maybe, if he were to work on developing the story more.
How could the performance have been better?
I did not like the narrator. There did not seam to be enough change in his voice from one character to the other. There were times I was not sure who was speaking.

Historia
Stephen Leeds, AKA 'Legion,' is a man whose unique mental condition allows him to generate a multitude of personae: hallucinatory entities with a wide variety of personal characteristics and a vast array of highly specialized skills. As the story begins, Leeds and his 'aspects' are drawn into the search for the missing Balubal Razon, inventor of a camera whose astonishing properties could alter our understanding of human history and change the very structure of society.

All the voices in his head make him a genius.
I hope Sanderson developes this character into a long series.

A Great Novel
Revisado: 08-04-12
I have listened to this version of the novel three times. George Guidall does a great job of narrating this book. The characters are interesting and you pick up a little history in the process (but I am not sure about the accuracy of the history.)

One of the Best Series of All Time
Revisado: 08-04-12
This the first of a very long series of books. As of this writing, we are waiting on the final book of the series, number 14 (15 if you include the prequel). It is a great story, a big story, and a deep story. Before the final book, the entire series is nearly 420 hours long (wikipedia) and worth every bit of time you put in. I would reread the series before each new book came out and now listening to it for the third time. Does it drag at time, sure. But most of the time it is fun or exciting.

Historia
Before cell phones that fit in the palm of your hand and slim laptops that fit snugly into briefcases, computers were like strange, alien vending machines. They had cryptic switches, punch cards, and pages of encoded output. But in 1975, a young engineering wizard named Steve Wozniak had an idea: What if you combined computer circuitry with a regular typewriter keyboard and a video screen?

As you listen to this book, you can really here the voice of Woz coming through. Not only because the reader sounds a lot like him, but because it is written the way he talks.

Historia
In 1803, President Thomas Jefferson selected his personal secretary, Captain Meriwether Lewis, to lead a voyage up the Missouri River, across the forbidding Rockies, and - by way of the Snake and the Columbia rivers - down to the Pacific Ocean. Lewis and his partner, Captain William Clark, endured incredible hardships and witnessed astounding sights. With great perseverance, they worked their way into an unexplored West. When they returned two years later, they had long since been given up for dead.

Great history
Revisado: 08-04-12
This is a well written history of the Lewis and Clark expedition. I remember studying a little about them, but this gives a solid understanding of, not only what they did, but what they had to endure. He gives a lot of the back story of the journey, which at times gets a little bogged down. It is a non-fiction book, so it is not always fun and exciting, but I found it very interesting.

Revisado: 08-04-12
I have listened to other Neal Stephenson books and loved them. This one was ok, and I would not disuade anyone from listening to it, but it was not on par with his other books. At nearly 40 hours, it should have been better.

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Couldn't Finish It
Revisado: 06-22-10
I have read a few of King's book and have enjoyed them but this one was so bad I could not finish it. I got through part 2 of 5 and turned it off. The characters seemed to be trite, predictable, and extreme. The language used was profane to an extreme to me. This does not usually offend me when used in the correct context but it seemed to excessive.
