A must listen for Millennials and younger gens
Revisado: 12-23-22
I have learned much about politics since I started listening to NPR when I was nineteen. Still, there is a lot of history that occurred before my Millennial interest began to lean towards action and activism when John Kerry ran for president. This podcast fills many political history gaps and helps explain how the mis/disinformation ecosystems were established not only in the US but around the world. Though the excellent high-information discussions don't end there, and I think if you appreciate history and are curious about politics, you will be thrilled to learn everything this podcast offers.

Historia
Bringing his twin gifts of scientific speculation and scathing satire to bear on that hapless planet, Earth, Lem sends his unlucky cosmonaut, Ijon Tichy, to the Eighth Futurological Congress. Caught up in local revolution, Tichy is shot and so critically wounded that he is flashfrozen to await a future cure.

Why is this in the top 100 list?
Revisado: 06-09-17
I imagine this is on the top 100 list that was circling around the Interwebs around 2015, because the list was created by Boomers who we know loved experimenting with all sorts substances. Basically, the narrator is tripping on this thing or that throughout the book, while making predictions about the 2000s, specifically, how everyone will be medicated on this thing or that. I didn't look at the copyright and thought this book was written in 1930s because the future predictions are so simple. Other than that, there are a lot of modern catch and brand words that are mentioned in this book, which was fun to hear. I gave it 3 stars because there is little to take away.

Historia
America is in the throes of a demographic overhaul. Huge generation gaps have opened up in our political and social values, our economic well-being, our family structure, our racial and ethnic identity, our gender norms, our religious affiliation, and our technology use. Today's Millennials - well-educated, tech savvy, underemployed twentysomethings - are at risk of becoming the first generation in American history to have a lower standard of living than their parents.

Well calculated update on the zeitgeist of US
Revisado: 05-10-17
I love statistics and regular reports from the Pew Research Center. This book combines recent Pew reports into a well written story of the current state of our nation. It is an important read for anyone interested where we have been, where we are now, and where we might be headed.

Good preview of tech that's here or right around the corner
Revisado: 04-03-17
This books is not very technical so it's an easy listen. As techy from the age of 8 who started building computers for fun at the age of 13 and am now almost finished with a Ba in IT with a focus in Systems Analysis, I believe roughly 75% of these predictions will come to fruition. The 25% that may not are predicated on whether the industry will be able to convince the public that they are worthwhile products and services. I would like to all of these predictions succeed but there must be more controls placed on social media.
