Historia
A deadly betrayal is at the center of The Athens Solution. When a game-changing weapon falls into the wrong hands, the US ambassador to Greece must risk everything to recover it, even if it means participating in a ruse that costs his life. With the ambassador dead and the device still at large, covert counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath rushes to eliminate a terror cell about to sell the dangerous technology to Iran.

This is abridged!!!
Revisado: 01-06-23
I read the book some time ago and thought it was truly remarkable. I wanted an audible but was very disappointed that it is not the complete book. Nowhere on the audible description does it say anything about it being abridged. Don't buy this! Every word of Thomas Friedman is exceptional. Abridging Friedman is a sacrilege.

Historia
It is the story of a boy growing up in the war-torn Jerusalem of the 40s and 50s in a small apartment crowded with books in 12 languages and relatives speaking nearly as many. His mother and father, both wonderful people, were ill-suited to each other. When Oz was 12 and a half years old, his mother committed suicide - a tragedy that was to change his life. He leaves the constraints of the family and the community of dreamers, scholars, and failed businessmen to join a kibbutz.

Bummer!
Revisado: 01-05-23
I read this book with the expectation of learning about the early days of modern Israel and the observations of a well respected author. Instead, I got a self indulgent screed of the author’s early life. I concluded the book with the idea that this tome is the first part of a very lengthy memoir. I will not read any more.

Historia
Never knowing his parents, eleven-year-old Stewie Little and his brother have been raised on a farm by their older sister. Stewie steadfastly tends the chickens left by his beloved late grandmother. And every day Stewie goes door to door selling fresh eggs from his wagon—a routine with a surprise just around the corner. It’s his new customer, Marilyn. She’s prickly and guarded, yet comfortably familiar—she reminds the grieving Stewie so much of the grandmother he misses more than he can express.

Historia
Malcolm Gladwell, author of New York Times best sellers including Talking to Strangers and host of the podcast Revisionist History, uses original interviews, archival footage, and his trademark insight to weave together the stories of a Dutch genius and his homemade computer, a band of brothers in Central Alabama, a British psychopath, and pyromaniacal chemists at Harvard. As listeners hear these stories unfurl, Gladwell examines one of the greatest moral challenges in modern American history.

Malcolm, drop the drama!
Revisado: 05-26-21
The music and dramatic pauses detract from a great “read.” If I want drama, I’ll watch a movie or go to a play. If I want music, I’ll listen to music. If I listen to to an Audible book, I want it to give me the book experience.

Historia
In 1914, the war which was to have been wrapped up by Christmas had - in reality - only just begun, as all sides entrenched themselves deeper into the Great War. Christmas Eve, 1914 follows one company of British officers as they rotate forward to spend their Christmas on the front lines, a mere 80 yards from the German guns. Upper- and working-class men and boys are thrown together into one trench and struggle to survive.

Audible, stick to books!
Revisado: 12-15-18
I am glad I did not buy this. I use Audible for books, not dramatizations. Additionally there is some question that this drama with multiple voices, sound effects, music, etc. is even true. I just wish I could the time I spent listening back.

Avoid!
Revisado: 12-15-18
I do not write bad reviews as I deeply respect anyone that writes a novel. I have read every one of Archer’s books and have enjoyed them all with the exception of his last series and this miserable excuse of a book. I do not respect Mr. Archer, not because he is a convicted felon, but because he panders to our lowest interests.
