Historia
For twenty-five years, the trusted family doctor in a small Wyoming town had been raping and molesting the women and children who most relied on him. Mostly Mormons, the naive victims sometimes realized on their wedding nights the truth about what had happened in Dr. Story's office.

Disturbing and sad but a great book.

The story was only hard to listen to because of its content. The author and narrator did an amazing job as always.
It is always so hard to hear of the victim blaming and how vicious people will get when they are confronted with things that make them uncomfortable. The women (and the men that stood behind them) did an amazing job by standing up to that horrible man.

Historia
Barbara was 12 when she was admitted to the psychiatric hospital Aston Hall in 1971. From a troubled home, she'd hoped she would find sanctuary there. But during her stay, Barbara was systematically drugged and abused by its head physician, Dr Kenneth Milner. Somehow, eventually, she started to campaign for answers. This is a shocking account of how vulnerable children were preyed upon by the doctor entrusted with their care.

Disturbing yet needs to be heard
Revisado: 12-10-21
This is the first book in a very long time that has stopped me in my tracks while listening to it because the content was so captivating and heart wrenching. My heart broke over and over for the little girl turned teen. It's awful to think of how horribly people treat children and those that cannot defend themselves.

Historia
The best mysteries have one thing in common: a memorable perpetrator. For every Sherlock Holmes or Sam Spade in noble pursuit, there's a Count Dracula, a Lester Leith, or a Jimmy Valentine. These are the rogues and villains who haunt our imaginations - and who often have more in common with their heroic counterparts than we might expect. Now, for the first time ever, Otto Penzler gathers the iconic traitors, thieves, con men, sociopaths, and killers who have crept through the mystery canon over the past 150 years, captivating and horrifying readers in equal measure.

Couldn't get past the voice
Revisado: 09-29-20
The book may be okay but I could not handle the narrator's speech patterns. It was almost like a British Captain Kirk with such a sporadic rhythm and rollercoaster of tones.
