Loved the story but found the narrator lacking.
Revisado: 04-18-22
I have loved the Tradd St series and was spoiled by Aimee Bruneau’s wonderful narration of the previous books in one of my favorite series. It makes sense that there is a new narrator for the latest book since there is a whole new cast of characters but I found this new narrator too subdued and lacking personality.

Very Impressed!
Revisado: 02-20-13
What did you love best about Stories I Only Tell My Friends?
I was happily surprised by how beautifully the book was written. And also how seamless the narration was. I usually don't think authors make the best narrators but Rob Lowe is an exception to the rule. Who knew that Rob Lowe is not only gorgeous but very bright and well spoken.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Rob and his mother because I could relate lo both of them.
Have you listened to any of Rob Lowe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Rob, as a child, realized that in order to protect himself he needed to keep everyone at an arm's length.
When Rob faced his alcoholism and made a decision to do something about it!
Any additional comments?
It was like hopping in a time machine and seeing the 80s through the eyes of my crush!

like the author but was very disappointed
Revisado: 09-02-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I have always liked Alice Hoffman but ordered this book by mistake and didn't even listen to the first hour =( It was very long and drawn out & much more dramatic thsn others by the same author.
Has Blue Diary turned you off from other books in this genre?
I will be more careful choosing books by Alice Hoffman.
How could the performance have been better?
The performance was too breathy and full of doom.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Blue Diary?
I couldn't even get that far into the book.
Any additional comments?
I will have to be moreful choosing books.
