Exceptional Work
Revisado: 03-11-24
This book is filled with nuggets of wisdom. When contemplated directly, these nuggets expand and grow and offer themselves to be put into action. I get the feeling that Humble the Poet is not offering THE way but he is offering a means for the reader to find his or her way to awareness, understanding, self-acceptance and gratitude. Nice work.

What is the nature of the relationship between science and religion? When do they conflict? And how do they influence each other in the pursuit of knowledge and truth? While conventional wisdom says that science and theology must perpetually clash, they have actually been partners in an age-old adventure.

Dr. Principe mentions in one of the lectures that there are many more areas of the relationship between science and religion to explore. Please do a sequel.

Historia
In her warm and inimitable way, M. J. Ryan guides us to look at our lives from a different perspective. To imagine what they would be like if we practiced an attitude of self-trust, if we received the gifts trusting ourselves might give us. In an age of constant media messages and so-called expert advice telling us to be richer, thinner, smart, and faster, we're all dogged with worry and self-doubt. Best-selling author M. J. Ryan believes we've become so dependent on "experts" to tell us how to live our lives that we listen to everyone except ourselves.

When I heard these familiar words: "Audible hopes you have enjoyed...", I found myself hoping it was an error of some sort. This book is packed with actionable intelligence and helped me develop a clear sense of why to take those actions now! Goethe wrote that as soon as you learn to trust yourself, you will know how to live your life. This book has helped me accelerate progress along that path and to understand myself better. Thank you, M. J. Ryan for a true masterpiece!

Update
Revisado: 06-22-20
My Audible library is well over a hundred titles. Almost all of them have something to do with self discovery or development. I have several shelves of hard copy books on the same topics. Personality Isn't Permanent pulls everything together in a way that leaves me eager to do the exercises in the book and able to believe in myself again. Thank You, Dr. Hardy,
6/28/20 update. Finished first listen. I let the material digest for a few days and now find myself eager to start again from the beginning, write down all of the questions and exercises and greet Future Self with open arms. This is good as it gets and is real Self Help.

Worst diction of any Audible narrator yet.
Revisado: 07-25-15
Where does The Neuroscience of Change rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It ranks very high. Content is superior to most. Narration is almost a fatal flaw.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Neuroscience of Change?
The most memorable moments are those where scientific observation validates theory that I am able to train my brain/mind to produce new and different results in areas of my life of my choosing.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator sounds like she is making a deliberate attempt to mispronounce words. (i.e. exhale comes out ex hal) This is coupled with inflections of words in declarative sentences that I found very distracting.
Any additional comments?
If the content of this book were anything less than outstanding, I could not listen to it. In fact, if it were redone by a competent narrator, I would buy it again.
