Wenn es Frühling wird in Glaubenthal, kommt der schöne Peter ins Dorf. Der Bäcker - von allen geliebt in der Region. Eine seiner größten Fans war Tante Herta. Doch die steht nicht wie sonst als erste am Wagen, sondern liegt mausetot im Vorgarten. In ihrem Alter nichts per se Unwahrscheinliches. Aber sie ist splitterfasernackt! Da muss sich die alte Huber mal wieder die Ärmel hochkrempeln und losermitteln. Auch wenn das zeitlich gar nicht passt, schließlich steht ihr Geburtstag vor der Tür, zu dem sich gegen ihren ausdrücklichen Wunsch Gäste angemeldet haben.

Die Menge an Charakteren und Sprüngen in der Handlung macht es manchmal schwierig zu folgen. Zudem ist der zweite Teil der Geschichte weniger Kriminalroman und mehr politische Lehrschrift. Der Sprecher leistet makellose Arbeit, besonders der Dialekt scheint (zumindest für mich als Hochdeutschsprecher) gut gelungen, daher volle Punkte für die sprachliche Umsetzung.

Besonders der Sprecher macht dieses Buch zu einem Erlebnis, aber das Werk an sich ist schon fantastisch. Die vielen Einblicke in die Leben der Bürger des Imperiums zeichnen das Buch für mich aus.

Even better than the book, one of the very actually life-changing books in the world

The idea of discussing each read part podcast style was great and makes the audiobook an even better experience than the book itself. Regarding the content of the book, if you read only book this year, then read (or listen) to this one. For personal growth and becoming a better being I think this is the most valuable story. And for me personally it was not just a story to listen to, but it made become more active and actually implement changes. I actually listen to this book repeatedly when going for long runs.
