Historia
King Dmitri was once a prince of flowers, but when his father was murdered in a treasonous plot by his own family, all of Dima's hope and innocence shattered. At his lowest point, he took the crown and bonded the land, and in the process, he lost himself. Now, the boy I once loved is brutal and cruel, and the best I can do for his kingdom is to put us both out of our misery before he destroys it all.

Exquisite
Revisado: 05-01-24
A powerful ending that ties story lines together from earlier books. Great narration, it would have been nice if both sisters' story lines had been more developed in the series since their connection to brothers and the land were just as strong as the males. Still, I highly recommend.

Historia
For nineteen years, I have carved myself into a dutiful son, a courtier of unimpeachable wit, and a genuine delight at a tea party. Now that my success in society has planted me in the path of Mikhail Vasiliev, it's clear I'd have been better off keeping my head down. Prince Mikhail is the second son of a traitor. Third in line to the throne, he has a reputation for violence, debauchery, and being a thorn in the side of his cousin, King Dmitri. That is until the king decides to get him out of the way—by marrying him off. To me.

Delightful
Revisado: 04-09-24
Interesting universe, compelling character development, treachery, dragons, and steam. More violence than I tend to like but story keeps moving to a kinder ending. Good readers.

Poor Narration
Revisado: 03-06-24
Love the series. For the first time in series, author narrates his own book. For my taste, author is a poor narrator. No differentiation between character voices, accents are mediocre to poor, narrator's pacing is too fast. It all gets in the way of emotional development.

Historia
After suffering a horrific injury that threatens to end his career, Baden Oulett is about to learn that sometimes a fresh start is just what the doctor ordered.
While my injuries are physical, the same can’t be said for the woman I rescued. Suffering from wounds that can’t be seen, Sophie Winters has withdrawn from the world. Through our shared trauma, Sophie and I find peace. As we grow closer, what started as friendship becomes more intimate. But can a love born of anguish endure, or will the pain of our past prove too much to overcome?

Not for me
Revisado: 01-14-22
This story lacked energy, plot was convoluted and long, ending was odd, main characters lacked chemistry, all of which made it difficult for me personally to feel compassion for their tragic back stories. This does not bode well for a series of books intended, as I understand it, to explore the stories of players who are rebuilding a hockey team whose entire roster was lost in a horrific plane crash. I do enjoy many of the author's other works. For my tastes, the author's forward exhibited the tightest writing and energy of the entire book. It made me look forward to the the story. The author's obvious love of Pittsburg was a nice touch though.
