Historia
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

not grisham's best

characters are one dimensional, most of the novel is narrative not dialogue among complex characters. the legal maneuvering is boring and the climax is unrealistic.

Historia
The incomparable master of the legal thriller takes us deeper into the labyrinth that is the American justice system, always drawing us in with an irresistible hook, pulling the thread of tension tighter and tighter, and then knocking us out with a conclusion that's never "by the book". Maybe that's why, after more than 20 years of consecutive number-one New York Times best sellers, a new novel by America's favorite storyteller is still a major publishing event.

Quite the ending
Revisado: 06-27-17
Although I think the editors should have axed some of the huge amount of detail in the middle of this novel the tie ups and ending of the trilogy is among the most creative and suspenseful of the space operas I've read. Worth the read. 4stars for story because of superfluous detail mid novel. The bonus story was a nice touch.

Historia
At 24 years of age, U.S. Army Ranger Sean Parnell was named commander of a forty-man elite infantry platoon - a unit that came to be known as the Outlaws - and was tasked with rooting out Pakistan-based insurgents from a mountain valley along Afghanistan's eastern frontier. Parnell and his men assumed they would be facing a ragtag bunch of civilians, but in May 2006 what started out as a routine patrol through the lower mountains of the Hindu Kush became a brutal ambush.

Don't miss this book
Revisado: 04-10-17
Insightful, well written and sometimes touching story that puts you on the battlefield in a war zone. Shows how soldiers grow and how they die. Surprising disclosures about how the government and military command sometimes failed our people in Afghanistan. Also shows how resilient and creative our platoon leaders and noncoms are. Just a wonderful experience.
