Historia
In this exquisite story of family, food, grief, and endurance, Michelle Zauner proves herself far more than a dazzling singer, songwriter, and guitarist. With humor and heart, she tells of growing up one of the few Asian-American kids at her school in Eugene, Oregon; of struggling with her mother's particular high expectations of her; of a painful adolescence; of treasured months spent in her grandmother's tiny apartment in Seoul, where she and her mother would bond, late at night, over heaping plates of food.

A sad book by a sad millennial
Revisado: 04-16-24
A story about how someone lived I would say one of the most terrorific event one can have : the passing of one’s mother and how that impacted her life. Liked the perspective of what she remembered about her and sorrowed the moments before and at the moment of death. But all of this is narrated in a typical tone of a young kid who does not care. Procrastinating to give love and joy to your mothe , evidently later having regrets and instead of remember with a smile of a life well lived and shared , a simple visit to a market makes you cry. Do the math. However I was able to finish the book by learning all the food recommendations and fun write style. I was expecting way more on the music journey, this book was slim about that . Anywho that’s all the stars I can give to it and will rethink Dua Lipa recommendations .

Historia

Money and fame does not deliver happiness
Revisado: 11-05-23
After Matt passed away I was curious to learn more about his life, only to learn how depressive and lack of meaning it had, now it’s not a surprise he’s premature death.
Nevertheless I liked the way he tells the story although again 90% of the content is about his addiction .
Sad to see how someone with his potential was so miserable emotionally.

A story I have never imagined
Revisado: 08-09-22
3 stars because it’s really nothing to learn about this book other that no matter how many success you have economically or how beautiful or famous you are, happiness is not guaranteed and that at the end you should not be depending on others (even your own family ) to be happy.
I love the audio book because she narrates it with that amazing voice, I loved it!

Historia
You might think you know what happened in the tragic shooting of Breonna Taylor, but no one knows that better than the lead officer on the scene, Sergeant John Mattingly. However, with the full support of the mainstream media, "Black Lives Matter" activists and other leftist groups immediately pounced on the tragedy, exploiting Breonna's death and twisting the story—in some cases, telling outright lies—to bolster a shameful “All Cops Are Bastards" narrative and radical “Defund the Police" agenda.

The flip side of the coin
Revisado: 03-21-22
What’s really incredible of this book is to learn the amount of misinformation we are exposed every day. Was not until reading this book that I got to get the police perspective on the events leading to the shooting of Breonna (RIP).
But more than that was to learn about John’s background and how he climbed the ranks of growing as a police officer. It came to me as a person qualified to the mission he was assigned that day. Incredible what a police officer needs to do before defending themselves, in this case literally getting shot and with the potential of bleeding out afterwards.
What worries me more after learning about this story is: who wants to be a cop and be exposed to such unfair treatment ? Migrating from a country where basically all police officers are corrupt and ask for bribes, I really come to admire and respect the police in the US. All my respect to this brave men.

Historia
Emily Ratajkowski is an acclaimed model and actress, an engaged political progressive, a formidable entrepreneur, a global social media phenomenon, and now, a writer. Rocketing to world fame at age 21, Ratajkowski sparked both praise and furor with the provocative display of her body as an unapologetic statement of feminist empowerment. The subsequent evolution in her thinking about our culture’s commodification of women is the subject of this book.

The sad story of a pretty woman
Revisado: 01-17-22
I was trying to find something positive about her life, but this is a compendium of all the different disgraces of having a beautiful body. And kind of questioning it’s ownership. (Btw you are the owner, just to set the record straight ) . And It’s also about men trying and taking advantage of her, physically and economically.
I would say is also entertaining. She goes into detail narratives of for example the blurred lines video production that’s fantastic intimate view of affairs. Until of course someone, in this case Robin, grubs her and kills the whole story.
No happy endings yet.
Awesome that she narrates the book, great hearing your story form your voice, and did I feel at some point you cried ?
Anywho, Emily, hope you find happiness. Don’t complain about been beautiful, ultimately it gave you everything you are.

In Republican Rescue, Christie reveals exactly how absurd grievances and self-inflicted wounds sabotaged Donald Trump’s many successes and allowed Democrats to capture the White House, the House, and Senate in two years - a first for the GOP since the days of Herbert Hoover. In his frank and compelling voice, Christie dissects the last year of the Trump administration - which provoked nothing but conspiracy theories and infighting - and he lays out an honest and hopeful vision.

Thanks for moving away from Trump! (From an independent)
Revisado: 01-04-22
One thing that I probably never forget about the republicans is the fact that they nominated and supported such an acid candidate and amazingly flawed person as Donald Trump. But this book I think is a good first step towards setting DJT on the past and potentially evaluate republican candidates again.
Would be awesome to see the Republican Party rebuilt themselves with their fundamental values in mind as Chris describes: a critical first step is to acknowledge the truth and move away from conspiracy theories. That's why is critical for you -republican - guys shut down Trump asap. I will not vote for a guy who encouraged an angry mob to attack our Capitol. Never.
I liked the book and Chris’s ideas and ideals on the 3rd part.

The wrong man to lead
Revisado: 09-27-20
Yeah, that’s the final conclusion of the author and mine.
Devoured the book almost non stop. Great narrative.
Trump participated with 17 interviews this time. What I found extremely funny is evident he treated Bob like a rockstar inviting him to White House, impressing him at Maralego and I would say as a friend , just like he is brainwashing North Korean dictator. All in the hopes of giving a great story of him. Great job Bob to put the country over manipulation, after reading this book I would be surprised if someone could disagree on your assessment of having Trump as the wrong man to lead our country, specially on these super turbulent times.

Historia
As President Trump’s national security advisor, John Bolton spent many of his 453 days in the room where it happened, and the facts speak for themselves. The result is one of the few White House memoirs to date by a top-level official. With almost daily access to the president, John Bolton has produced a precise rendering of his days in and around the Oval Office. What Bolton saw astonished him: a president for whom getting reelected was the only thing that mattered, even if it meant endangering or weakening the nation.

Terrifying
Revisado: 07-26-20
Terrifying to learn how randomly the Trump admin works, and the consequences of hiring a president with no relevant experience for the highest office. Maybe he is a successful business man but in government a total newbie and it’s damaging our country big time. Hopefully we can adjust this in November. Bolton is a coward for not helping on the impeachment, but never imagined and what interested more about the book is his knowledge on international relationships. A good book to see how international affairs work. I give 2 stars to the story because it was quite sad to me to learn how Trump is damaging so much our country internally and internationally and working mostly for his own personal benefit, rather than In our nation’s benefit.
