Before You Leap by Kieth Houghton is an entertaining story about love and grief. It has many twists and turns. The characters are interesting and we are given the back stories when needed. I have to admit, I did get aggravated with the lack of common sense the main character had at times, but that just made it more interesting.
Overall, I like an interesting book that makes you think so this was my kind of story.

Unearthing the Fae King by Brenda Trim is a fun and spicy coming of age story; only for fae. Full of magic, mystery, and suspense this book allows readers (or listeners) to join the new students in an abundance of adventures. While the 2 main character’s magic is developing faster than anyone expected they quickly feel that something is just not right. So of course they start investigating. And Wow! They definitely turnover some big stones to discover the unexpected.
I highly recommend those to all readers, old enough to read the spicy stuff.
5 stars for the narration too.

After the Change by Michael J. Moore brings a different perspective for the apocalypse story. Three teens venture through the new world and experience many unthinkable obstacles. Having been best friends, and bandmates, before “the change” they benefit from their teamwork to gain an advantage over the rest of humanity. Action and adventure from beginning to end make this story hard to put down (or turn off if you’re listening on audible). It’s written from the point of view of Diego, one of the three friends and he has a unique way of telling a story. While mostly filled with suspense and action, you’ll also enjoy laughing with them
too. You may even feel the need to join in the action by screaming at the many different characters that join the story. Overall, I loved this story and can’t wait to read their next adventure!

The Boy From The Woods by Jen Minkman is a coming of age story about sisterly love. I found it to be fun and exciting while full of suspenseful drama. In other words, This book has all the feels in a smooth read.
The Boy From the Woods is a beautifully written story. Each event unfolds at just the right places, giving just enough information to keep the flow perfectly. This twist toward the end give a new meaning to the title.
Overall, I give it 5 out of 5 stars. It was written and narrated extremely well. I will definitely look out for more from Jen Minkman.

Becoming Charlie: Part One

By: Kristie Haigwood
Narrated by: Melissa Moran

Becoming Charlie is one of the best coming of age stories I’ve read! A young introvert discovers herself through the eyes of a popular jock, Sean, who is anything but the typical jock type. Her discovery brings joy and healing to her family, making this an excellent “feel good” book. I recommend this book for readers of all ages; my 13 year old loved it. The best part is, it is completely rated G and I wasn’t worried about her listening along with me. I listened to the audio version and Melissa Moran did a great job! I look forward to Part Two. I rate Becoming Charlie with 5 huge stars. Keep up the good writing Kristie Haigwood!

Leah's Song
Mountain Creek Drive Series, Book 2

By: Daphne James Huff
Narrated by: Kaye Anderson

Leah’s Song is the story of a sweet and shy young lady that finds her voice. As the middle child, she is the younger sibling of the family’s sport star, who seems to soak up attention like a sponge; which makes it easy for Leah to blend into the background. This is fine with Leah, she is happy to spend her free time building babysitting career she and her best friend Lilly started years ago. Until they get a new neighbor, who becomes the one and only thing to ever threaten their relationship.

Leah’s Song is a great story for all ages and you can feel comfortable letting your preteen read this book. I am definitely a little older than a preteen but I still enjoyed it, as did my young teen daughter. I appreciate any books we can listen to together in the car. I listened to the audio version and felt the narrator did an excellent job. All around, I rate Leah’s Song with 4 stars.

Better as a Memory
Begin Again, Book 2

By: Dawn Brower
Narrated by: Juliana Solo

Belle meets the perfect man, only he makes it clear that he sees her as a one night stand. She moves on until their paths cross again; what a coincidence! Or is it more than coincidental?

Better as a Memory combines romance, action and suspense for an intriguing quick and smooth read. I recommend this for anyone who loves any genre. Brower has given readers another great read; quite easily a 4 star book! Also, I listened to the audio version and Frangione gave a great performance.

Maggie's Run Outback Brides, Book 1
By: Kelly Hunter
Narrated by: Amy Soakes

As the last member of her family, Maggie has to return to her hometown to handle her family estate after her great aunt dies. She has no intention of staying at her family’s farm, Wirra Station, which carries nothing but bad memories for her. She plans to liquidate the entire farm when her childhood friend and neighbor make her a very enticing offer.

This is a romance with a unique situation, making it an intriguing and fun read. The narrator, Amy Soakes, performs beautifully; she makes a great story better. I look forward to hearing more of her performances and more about Maggie and Max. I give this book and huge 4 stars.
