Historia
Despite your graduate education, brainpower, and technical prowess, your career in scientific research is far from assured. Permanent positions are scarce, science survival is rarely part of formal graduate training, and a good mentor is hard to find. In A PhD Is Not Enough!, physicist Peter J. Feibelman lays out a rational path to a fulfilling long-term research career. He offers sound advice on selecting a thesis or postdoctoral adviser; choosing among research jobs in academia, government laboratories, and industry; and more.

Excellent listen
Revisado: 04-11-23
This book is well written, clearly a subject known well by the author. A voice I never got sick of hearing and information that never stops causing me to think. I will probably listen to it a few times, but this next time I will take notes more intensely. Loved the book.

Historia
lhan Omar was only eight years old when war broke out in Somalia. The youngest of seven children, her mother had died while Ilhan was still a little girl. She was being raised by her father and grandfather when armed gunmen attacked their compound and the family decided to flee Mogadishu. They ended up in a refugee camp in Kenya, where Ilhan says she came to understand the deep meaning of hunger and death. Four years later, after a painstaking vetting process, her family achieved refugee status and arrived in Arlington, Virginia.

The voice of representative Omar is perfect for audiobooks. Call
Cause I found the story to be absolutely fascinating call in the way in which she told it was such an eye-opener for a complacent American like me. I’ve become a huge fan of her life work. I grew to love her family through her storytelling. I will never forget this book and I will often think of the stories I’ve heard in her voice. Thank you Miss Omar for writing this life story. – Mark Kennedy 309–313–5884 illinoisems.com

A Life changing listen.

Thank You Bonnie for doing such an amazing job putting this all together. I listened to everyone of them; some more than once. You changed my entire perspective on black lives, the black polis, and the natural majesty of black woman throughout history. I more than loved it... Thank you so much for your hard work. - Mark Kennedy

Historia
The Ball family hails from South Carolina - Charleston and thereabouts. Their plantations were among the oldest and longest-standing plantations in the South. Between 1698 and 1865, close to 4,000 Black people were born into slavery under the Balls or were bought by them. In Slaves in the Family, Edward Ball recounts his efforts to track down and meet the descendants of his family's slaves.

Mind blowing - Excellent

Thank you so much for what must’ve been an extraordinary effort to put this information together. So well written, it’s as if I were back in time observing and seeing the stories right before my eyes. The book has transformed my entire understanding of slavery. I’m grateful for the good members of this family throughout the years and I’m also grateful for the labor and toil of each slave. I feel that this book goes along way to heal and apologize for what has occurred, Although clearly it could never be sufficient. Thank you.
