Thirty-two hours wasted waiting for the pathetic, ammoral main character to redeem himself. I really don't see any grand themes or that the main character learned anything during all of those pages. He stumbled through the book in a drug and alcohol daze and went no where.

What would have made Gone Girl better?
The book was unpredictable throughout and kept my interest but the ending was so incredibly unsatisfying and depressing.

After having to read about bad people in a disasterous marriage, I switched to witches and vampires to clear my brain.
