Oh, and not to mention, a troop of ragtag fae storms my home, a fatal illness devastates the town, and a fae curse threatens Grampi’s life.

A fresh take!

The beginning was a bit slow/rocky but the story grew better and better as it went along!
I'm looking forward to starting book 2!
I don't want spoil anything so I'm keeping my review short. If you enjoy a fresh take on various folklore, this is a good pick!

Different than the average YA end of times story

I have enjoyed this series so far. It's a twist on the biblical end of times...the difference a fiesty, loyal & passionate angel can make. The twists are interesting. I appreciate the uniqueness of this story.
Now, onto book 3!

The story started differently than I expected. I came into it with an "academy" story type expectation, but it is definitely not in line with the usual coming of age YA Academy trope.
This story coming from an angel's perspective is new and intriguing.
I am looking forward to book 2!

Heartfelt, informative with high impact

I thought I knew & understood a lot regarding the military 🪖 side of things but the break down of BUDS & overall Seal related material was eye opening.
I have worked around & lived with Police K9s, as well as, working a Medical Alert Service Dog myself. I appreciated the dog work details & understood the highs & lows described.
This book is a must read! It should be part 9f High School mandatory reading.

I knew I had to read this as I enjoyed & learned from the Hunger Games trilogy. I rewatch the movies & reread the books & find something new to take away or build on. I find relatable details to our world & it is thought provoking.
I struggled with the introduction of a young Snow but as the story went along I enjoyed the layers that built the Hunger Games as we know it.
Well written.
The only reason I marked the performance as 4 stars was that there is a fair amount of music presented & it being read only not sung didnt really fit.
