Historia
But now Lillian herself is dead. Found among the bleeding hearts and lilacs of Clara Morrow's garden in Three Pines, shattering the celebrations of Clara's solo show at the famed Musée in Montreal. Chief Inspector Gamache, the head of homicide at the Sûreté du Québec, is called to the tiny Quebec village and there he finds the art world gathered, and with it a world of shading and nuance, a world of shadow and light. Where nothing is as it seems. Behind every smile there lurks a sneer. Inside every sweet relationship there hides a broken heart.

Historia
Brighton, 1950. The body of a girl is found cut into three pieces. Detective Inspector Edgar Stephens is convinced the killer is mimicking a famous magic trick - the Zig Zag Girl. The inventor of the trick, Max Mephisto, is an old war friend of Edgar's. They served together in a shadowy unit called the Magic Men, a special ops troop that used stage tricks to confound the enemy. Max is on the traveling show circuit, touring seaside towns with ventriloquists, sword-swallowers, and dancing girls.

Not as good as Griffith's Ruth Galloway series
Revisado: 06-04-19
Dull characters, slowly developed plot. This can't compare to the author's other books. Check out her other books.

Dark mystery with great characters
Revisado: 03-28-19
My first exposure to this author. Well developed, quite dark current day mystery, set on UK salt marsh. Can't wait to listen to the next book in the series. If you love British mysteries, series, authors and narrators, you'll love this one.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Historia
Detective Josie Quinn is horrified when she’s called to the house of a mother who had her newborn baby snatched from her arms. A woman caught fleeing the scene is Josie’s only lead, but when questioned it seems this mysterious girl doesn’t know who she is, where she’s from, or why she is so terrified.... Is she a witness, a suspect, or the next victim? As Josie digs deeper, a letter about a mix-up at a fertility clinic links the nameless girl and the missing child to a spate of killings across the county.

Awful
Revisado: 10-02-18
This is a ridiculous, convoluted story with an unrealistic heroine made more frustrating by a very poor narrator. Her voice was poorly matched to the main character and included so many oddly pronounced or outright mispronounced words I gave up counting. I fault the audio director who must have slept through the whole project. Get your money ey back on this one. Wow

When Imogen returns to work at Glossy after six months away, she can barely recognize her own magazine. Eve, fresh out of Harvard Business School, has fired "the gray hairs", put the managing editor in a supply closet, stopped using the landlines, and hired a bevy of manicured and questionably attired underlings who text and tweet their way through meetings.

Maybe it's me...
Revisado: 08-15-18
I couldn't finish this book. The basic premise was repeated ad nauseum in a whiny stuck up English accent for chapter after chapter. And I prefer English narrators. It didn't matter how much I drank, the storyline did not develop, the characters lingered in angst, and I hated myself for continuing to listen. Couldn't do it.
