Dear author
Revisado: 03-25-22
The story was incredible. I was not expecting the ending, and it was too fast and heartbreaking. He literally just found his soul mate. The only woman he will ever love, and settle down with. Could you think about writing a second book. The story of his life with falon. A look at his life of holding on till he is reunited with Layla, on the other side. The other side is many different things. Even them being recarnated, and finding eachother in the next life time.

Loved the story
Revisado: 08-17-21
The story was sweet, and tender. I had no issues with the story, or the writing itself. But this book is in duel points of view. There is no differentiating between either main characters voices, or the other prominent sub characters. It made the story somewhat monotone, and her inflections weren't always on point. But the story was good enough for me to finish the book. I struggled between 3 to 4 stars. I loved the writing and story so much, but 3 stars won out, due to poor narration.
I do believe the narrator would do amazing on other types of books, or even with a partner for dual points of view. But this book fell flat unfortunately.

Revisado: 06-11-21
First book by the author, and I loved it. Will definently be listening to any other works from the author. I was pleasantly surprised by the time line being realistic for feelings and love. The book was moving, with all sorts of emotions for the reader. It was real, and a true story that takes the reader into the world.

Cover and description is VERY misleading.
Revisado: 03-31-21
This book was amazing. But while this is a spoiler, both the cover, and book description are very misleading. If you're looking for a sweet happily ever after, this isn't the book for you. It ends in tragedy, with a little light at the end, but not enough in my opinion. It should have given more hope six years later. A past love(that while it was the wrong time earlier in the book), could have showed that life does in fact move on. That staying in the past is heartbreaking, and finding happiness doesn't stop. Rose chose to stay stagnant, and put her happiness all on the shoulders of a someone that deserved her to be happy and move on.

This bittersweet novel by Jenny Han recounts the summer of Belly's 16th birthday. And his older brother Conrad - her secret crush - seems distant and cold. But her blossoming beauty isn't the only reason for their change in behavior.

Confusing mess
Revisado: 09-05-20
The story skips around constantly. Following it is nearly impossible. "Belly" is childish, and selfish. She is a brat, even after she hits puberty according to the timeline. The narrator does a pretty good job though. No one could have fixed the confusing mess alone. Possibly if multiple narrators were used...though I have a feeling even that couldn't fix the fundamental flaws.

That is until she starts dreaming about men who make her want to peel off her clothes and throw herself at them...at ALL of them. This quiet girl is suddenly ravenous to feel their hands on her bare skin, and their mouths as they kiss their way along her spine. But these warlocks made for battle, trained and hardened against the flames of conflict are not real-they are just figments of her imagination.

Irritating phrasing
Revisado: 07-14-20
I rarely write reviews, but this needs a warning. The narrator did a good job, but the phrasing is cringe worthy. The world and the characters are fairly well well developed. But it has a major flaw. The story line in the series progresses in time, but it's nearly the same story told over and over again. I have a thing about wanting to finish series, but I couldn't. The word "pussy" irritates the crap out of me, and it's used CONSTANTLY. I love the reverse haram stories, but this felt like forced exploration in both writing, and the characters.

Different narrator from bait.
Revisado: 04-03-19
The narrator is annoying. All of the books she narrates, I end up giving up on them. Her voice is whiny, yet little inflection in her reading. It really is irritating! Book 1 was amazing. It's too bad they didn't keep the same narrator.

This is one huge cluster!
Revisado: 01-07-19
The narrator for book one is completely irritating! She is whiny. Which might not be so bad, if the character wasn't just a ball of angsty brat. The narrator for two, as well as the other books is fine for the most part.
Now to the actual book. The series is a cluster!!! The story is not put together at least. It is not cohesive either. A story will start in the middle out of no where, and have no back story, or sometimes even relevance. *Spoiler* when she becomes a vampire the entire time she forgets that all the vampires around her can read minds, but she can't. All of a sudden in a scene she says the closer she gets to caleb, the more she is unable to read his mind as well. Literally out of NO WHERE...she never could though right?
Ok, I'm all about giving books a true fighting chance. I listened all the way to book 6! I just cannot take any more. She stays whiny, bratty, impulsive, and selfish. It's the same story book after book. Morgan Rice should have packed it into the 1st two books, or developed and created better characters.
I never really leave reviews...but this series needed one. I'm sorry Morgan Rice. You have the potential to be a good writer, these books should have been a first draft, with an editor ripping it apart, asking you the right questions to put your story into order. It's hard to be objective about your own work.

Historia
I wondered what my life would have been like if we had never moved to the ho-dunk town of Spring Valley, Illinois. Sure the internet service was splotchy, there was nothing but miles of wheat fields, and I probably wouldn't be faced with death at every corner. My only neighbor in this god-forsaken town was...well there really was only one to describe him, hot as hell. With his sinful dark looks, unusually silver eyes, and kissable lips, there was something about him that was more than meets the eye.

Background noise is very distracting
Revisado: 10-13-18
The book is great, and Tara Millette's reading is amazing. But she must have recorded the book in an area with others talking. There is a man in the background talking, and it's s very distracting. It's not the entire book, but enough that I'll probably avoid books she narrates. I'm going to keep going with this series, and see if she figures out that she can't read with men in the background.
