Historia
Trauma is a fact of life. Veterans and their families deal with the painful aftermath of combat; one in five Americans has been molested; one in four grew up with alcoholics; one in three couples have engaged in physical violence. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent more than three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust.

I listened with my mind. Then I listened with mindfulness.

I listen to this book twice because it actually made me conquer my worst fear. Or at least I thought it was my worst fear. I now realize that’s just one key to mini Keys. I’ve recently been diagnosed with complex PTSD. I suffer mostly with scopophobia. And of course the dreaded anxiety. This book gave me the courage to go back to a place I never dreamed in a million years I would ever have the courage to go back to. And I mean I physically drove there. TY. I listened to it the first time with just a scattered brain. The second time I listen to it with a totally different mindset. All the love in the world to the Arthur. 333

Historia
Do you feel a tightness in your chest and a racing heart anytime you have to speak up for yourself, whether in a large group or small? Does the very idea that others could perceive you as looking uncomfortable or frightened make those symptoms even worse? Do you vigilantly avoid potential panic triggers, and always think the worst is bound to happen? If so, you may be one of the 40 million Americans who suffer from anxiety. Symptoms run the gamut from mildly embarrassing but tolerable to persistent and debilitating.

I suffer from extreme anxiety. I’m going through a situation right now that almost has me paralyzes with social anxiety. I just happened to stumble across this book. And WOW! I suggest it 100% whole heartedly without a questionable doubt if you suffer from anxiety. Or you’re just going through something. I feel obligated to myself to listen to the whole thing again. I got so much out of the first time. Thank you!
