Historia
Separated from friends and family and haunted by personal demons, park ranger Anna Pigeon finds solace in the quiet ruins of the Anasazi civilization of Colorado's Mesa Verde. But the rugged beauty of the park and the mystery of the Anasazi are cruelly overshadowed by danger and death. Lately, visitors to Mesa Verde have been bringing home more than photos - they're also carrying a strange, deadly disease, and once it strikes, Anna Pigeon must find the very human source of the evil wind.

Poor quality recording.

I love Nevada Barr fiction and this narrator is great but THIS recording is TERRIBLE. It’s muffled as if there was a towel over the microphone.

Historia
As soon as man discovered writing, he began engaging in historiography (historical writing and philosophy), but paleoanthropology only really began in the late 1800s. As archaeologists began finding bones in European caves of a human race that was very different than any race in the modern world, the study of paleoanthropology was born. The race of those early humans who were found in the European caves were later termed Neanderthals, and for quite some time, they were believed to have been the race from which many modern humans were directly descended.

Paleo archeology lite. Very superficial.
Revisado: 04-14-22
Beware of what you are expecting from this. It is just and edited compilation of notes written by various people in the field with a loose narrative thread put together by a group of editors. That’s what it claims to be and nothing more. The narration is awkward. If you want a “lite” introduction to the subject this may be okay but don’t expect more. At the end you will learn that there were hominids called Denisovans who were related to Neanderthals and modern humans a little and lived in east Asia. Most of the rest is speculation.
