I appreciated the comprehensiveness and depth of the material presented. The voices of the Roosevelt's in the audio book was a delightful surprise.

Watch the language

The language employed in spinning this yarn will sear itself into your brain. Beware - it's poetic and powerful.

A "Must Listen" for All
Revisado: 08-14-12
If you could sum up The Hiding Place in three words, what would they be?
Inspiring. Humbling. Precious.
What did you like best about this story?
The best thing about this story is that even after listening to it thirty years after I first read it, it still is able to draw me in, sit me down in the story, and keep my head and my heart engaged.
What about Bernadette Dunne’s performance did you like?
Bernadette Dunne cared about what she did. She cared about the characters. She erased the line between story and listener.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Forgiveness. When Corrie is able to draw on her sister's courage and sense of mercy and forgive.
Any additional comments?
It would be good if this book were heard or read by young women seeking heroines.

More than you can imagine
Revisado: 08-14-12
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes. It provided insight into a few personalities of Venice.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I would have linked even more of the history to present day events.
What three words best describe Holter Graham’s performance?
Steady. Comfortable. Competetent.
Did The City of Falling Angels inspire you to do anything?
Yes. It inspired me to listen to Peter Ackroyd's Venice: Pure City
Any additional comments?
Give it a go. You'll be surprised at what you hear.
