Historia
Captain Charles Wyvern owes a great debt to the man who saved his life. The best way to honor that hero's dying wish is for Wyvern to escort the man's grieving fiancee and mother safely to a new cottage home by the sea. But along the way, he learns of another obligation that has fallen on his shoulders: His uncle has died, and the captain is now the earl of Rothwell.

Even better than the first in the series
Revisado: 08-15-24
Absolutely delightful. This book had every element of a great story. Unrequited love, lost, hopes, redemption, humor, intrigue, and down and on and on. Without question Mary Sarah’s very best narration.

But in order to succeed, Kendall must first conquer his own unnerving attraction to Hadley's hoyden of a daughter—Lady Isolde Langston.

Enthralling
Revisado: 07-30-24
I never tire of this author. It’s hard to imagine she can to a previous story but she continues to build on a storyline that is utterly absorbing. I’m so sad to see this epic tale end. I’ve already listened to previous stories many times over.

Historia
Determined to support her mother and sisters after her father's untimely death, Charlotte Mandeville covertly crafts satirical caricatures of high society. It not only puts money in her family’s bare pockets, but ensures the haut-ton cannot guard all the power and the secrets. Anthony Yorke has a guilty conscience and a brother to exonerate. When the key piece of evidence to clear his brother's name falls into the hands of a headstrong young woman, he is willing to do whatever is required to obtain it from her.

Fun love/hate tension
Revisado: 05-15-24
Love-hate stories can often be tedious, but this was really delightful. I find all of Martha Keyes’s books creative, and captivating to the very end. It is not that I disliked the narrator. She is skillful, but it is the voice she chose for the main male character that was grating to the point of genuine annoyance. Nevertheless, if you can get past that, it’s a great listen.

Revisado: 04-10-24
When I concluded book 4 in the series and saw that Lord Blackwell had his own story with Margaret, I immediately purchased it. Such fun. I am so drawn in to this series and Ashtyn’s fun sense of humor and wit. but it is the poem in the middle of it that really causes her literary brilliance to shine.

At odds with love, Matthew Northcott has firmly decided that he will never marry, much to the dismay of his relatives . . . and nearly every young lady he meets. Revisado: 03-22-24
I know of no more intellectually brilliant, creatively captivating authoress than Nichole Van. Her stories are riveting. I avoided this series for a long time, thinking that it would not appeal to my historical romance fiction, regency era mind. I could not have been more wrong!

Historia
As a young woman, Leah Penn-Leith fell hopelessly in love with Captain Fox Carnegie—the only irrational mark on her decidedly sensible life. Fox, unfortunately, did not return her regard. Their story should have ended there—Fox left for India and Leah returned home to Scotland to rear her much younger brothers. Twenty years later, Fox appears on Leah's doorstep—older, scarred, and world-weary—proposing a marriage of convenience between them.

After my fourth or fifth reading, I cannot rightly recall, my respect for this woman continues to escalate. The poem alone written by the character Ethan Penleith is worth the purchase price. It can stand with the greatest of England’s poets!

Historia
Lord Elliott Mayfield sees the new generation of his family moving in the same direction of bad matches and scandalous relationships as the last. In hopes to change their course, he establishes a "marriage campaign" to motivate them to improve themselves through making respectable matches. Peter, Elliott's eldest nephew, thinks the entire idea is ridiculous. A widower with two young daughters, he simply needs a governess, not a wife. Julia Hollingsworth has the credentials and the experience, but is too young and pretty for such a job. So why can't he stop thinking about her?
