I honestly don't know, who writes the 5 star reviews for this one, if they read any other books before, but this is a solid 2 starts entry. 3 stars if you focus on the world building and you like the concept of the selfish gods. The plot is okay, the characters are flat and cold and it is kind like with the Book of the Fallen - building up for a great finale, but just not as good. Too impersonal. Doesn't make me cheer for any of the protagonists. It's dry like a report from an event rather than a thrilling story that keeps you involved.

The world building is good, the characters are lacking, the prose is acceptable. And that's it. It's acceptable.
After all the internet hype, the book was pretty underwhelming. Nowhere near Abercrobmie or Robin Hobb level. It is building up for something big to happen and it just doesn't happen. There is no climax. Written more like a chronicle, events described with little emotion. Worst characters I've read in years.

Dresden Files are one of my favourite audiobooks ever. There is Sanderson, Abercrombie, Robin Hobb, Brent Weeks and tonnes of other good read out there. All of them great up to some point, usually around 3rd volume. Harry and I made it to 17 and we split ways here. It's been a long run. Average a the start, then awesome, then even better, and now it's like 25th season of the Simpsons.
Thakns for all the adventures we had together. You are the real wizard Harry!
