Historia
Young Hiram Walker was born into bondage. When his mother was sold away, Hiram was robbed of all memory of her - but was gifted with a mysterious power. Years later, when Hiram almost drowns in a river, that same power saves his life. This brush with death births an urgency in Hiram and a daring scheme: to escape from the only home he’s ever known. So begins an unexpected journey that takes Hiram from the corrupt grandeur of Virginia’s proud plantations to desperate guerrilla cells in the wilderness, from the coffin of the South to dangerously idealistic movements in the North.

Brilliant, Bold and Beautiful Storytelling
Revisado: 06-14-24
An original story told by a master steeped in the detective/noir tradition, stylistically conducting us through a magnificent range of influences from Edgar Allen Poe to George Alec Effinger (and others). The narrator’s performance is just as masterful.

Historia
Henry George’s words as delivered in 1872 are still hauntingly true to this day. The capitalist society, George states, has two very distinct faces. On the one hand, it openly shares its growth and unyielding optimism for the future, but underneath it hides a society of great distress amongst workers and a failing of the industrial system.
