I am aware that cellphones and iPads are shattering my mind but I lived many decades without them. This book seems to reveal what it is like to be a digital native. I could not stop listening . It is raw and close to the bone and utterly absorbing. It shows what it is like to be a human in this culture right now. I hope the pendulum swings soon and humans return to face to face interaction. We need each other’s company so, so much.

This book is fantastic, imo. It uses the life of the artist, poet and mystic William Blake as a starting point to consider what it means to be a living creature in this Universe. The author is a deep thinker and I was profoundly moved by his ideas. I had no idea I’d be this affected by the book and I am delightfully surprised. I will definitely listen again. Highly recommended.

I do not use social media and I only recently acquired a smart phone. Yet even with this limited exposure, I find myself wasting time and attention on screens when I know I’d feel better NOT doing so. The addictive nature of these devices is staggering. This book is an intelligent and well researched inquiry into what Tech is doing to our minds and the results are chilling. We are so screwed if we don’t fight this assault on what makes us human. I hope lots of people read this book and join together to demand that Big Tech serve our real needs rather than the greed of our Corporate Overlords.

An engrossing and well written book. Comforting in a deep way. I have listened to it repeatedly.

I think Carlo Rovelli writes absolutely lyrical books about very technical topics in physics. To me, this book makes the most sense of what quantum physics may be “telling us” about the nature of the universe and consciousness. And he does so in a friendly, happy and accessible way. Just great.

This is a really compassionate summary of why we must exercise. The research is solid and well presented. Still, it is the author’s admission that exercise is not natural to humans and is difficult to do that really struck me. If you ever feel defeated when trying to create an exercise habit, this is a great book to listen to. I highly recommend this book to those who already exercise regularly and those who would like to. Just great. Also, the narrator is awesome—he sounds like Everybody’s Grandpa.
