Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

A beautiful story of a different life alone…
Revisado: 12-27-21
Glad I gave this a second chance. It was a wonderful story of Survival and love. I listened every chance I could wanting to know what was going to happen in Kia’s life. Cassandra Campbell did an excellent job with the different characters.

Historia
Aria is no stranger to tragedy. Fifteen years ago, a family outing took the lives of her father and baby sister, leaving remaining members of this fractured family struggling with their own guilt - real and imagined. At 25, Aria believes she can reinvent herself through her planned marriage with all its promise of a family of her own. Her infertility changes her life as swiftly and irrevocably as the urban landscape around her.

Ignore the negative reviews and listen
Revisado: 08-28-21
This is my second book by Ms. Jones. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Her storytelling connects you to the characters especially the main character. It’s a story of family, love, loss, life long grief, true friendship and self-discovery.
Unlike some of the reviews, I think the reader did a wonderful job with the characters. I could actually close my eyes and visualize what each character look like based on the sound of her voice.
I highly recommend it.

Historia
The summer of 1936 in Parsons, Georgia, is unseasonably hot, and Opal Pruitt senses a nameless storm brewing. She hopes this foreboding feeling won’t overshadow her upcoming 18th birthday or the annual Founder’s Day celebration in just a few weeks. She and her Grandma Birdie work as housekeepers for the white widow Miss Peggy, and Opal desperately wants some time to be young and carefree with her cousins and friends.

Pleasant Surprise!
Revisado: 08-17-21
This is my first book by Ms. Jackson-Brown. Loved her writing and how she drew me into each character and their story. Even though the ugliest of the KKK and racism existed, the faith, love and strength of Ms. Birdee’s family prevailed. Love, love Opal and Cedric’s fresh love!
