Everything a cosy should be - good puzzle, wonderful characters and setting. I highly recommend this story.

I always dislike continuations of series (Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie, etc), but Goldsboro has done a perfect job in capturing the original tone of Wolfe and Archie. A pleasure to meet with old friends again.

I loved the carefully drawn picture of English village life before the unspeakable atrocities of war, how they cope with their losses, and survive to carry on. I wish I had the words to describe how this story moved me.

I was looking for Marsh's typical witty dialogue, interesting mystery twists. This doesn't have it, at all. It is just an apparent crime, and how a group of people held hostage attempt to get away. No mystery at all.

What would have made The Goldfinch better?

If the "protagonist" would have possessed better decision-making skills.

Has The Goldfinch turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes!

What didn’t you like about David Pittu’s performance?

It wasn't his fault the script was so negative.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I do understand there are probably people in the world who are equally unfortunate.

Any additional comments?

You'll need a prescription for Prozac after reading this stinker.
