I wish there was a movie for this book. It was so, so, so good! I was captivated from the very beginning and didn't want to stop listening. And the narrator... OMG! She is amazing. I highly recommend it.

Historia
Call Me by Your Name first swept across the world in 2007. It is the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents' cliffside mansion on the Italian Riviera. During the restless summer weeks, unrelenting but buried currents of obsession, fascination, and desire intensify their passion as they test the charged ground between them and verge toward the one thing both already fear they may never truly find again: total intimacy.

I was rooting for the protagonist the whole time and at the end I was pleasantly and disturbingly not surprised, yet surprised at the same time. Whew!! This is absolutely worth a credit.

I Really Liked It!
Revisado: 07-20-17
When I first started listening to this book I was not paying much attention and thought I didn't like it. I decided to re-start it when I was about 5 or 6 chapters in and give it another chance. Well, I was pleasantly surprised that I really did like the storyline when I actually started focusing more on what I was listening to. It's a very Jason Bourne like story with LOTS of twists and turns and action that I did not expect. I love the protagonist and wish he was a friend of mine. Overall, the story is great and kept me intrigued and wanting more as I kept listening. I still want more and am very glad know it's part of a series. On to the next one, for me.

Historia
A lyrical and authentic book that recounts the story of a border-town family in Brownsville, Texas in the 1980s, as each member of the family desperately tries to assimilate and escape life on the border to become "real" Americans, even at the expense of their shared family history. This is really un-mined territory in the memoir genre that gives in-depth insight into a previously unexplored corner of America.

It was Okay
Revisado: 05-17-13
I've been pondering what to say about this book for sometime. I'm conflicted because, like the author, I am from Brownsville. On one hand I totally relate to a lot of what was in the book, and on another hand, I'm a little offended by his description of our hometown with such disgust. Like the author, I left Brownsville a long time ago because there was nothing left for me there, I mean I wasn't really going any where at that time and I have a lot of family and friends who still live there. The picture he paints of our hometown comes off as a town full of illiterate, uneducated, drug dealing, pot smoking alcoholics. Now, I get this is HIS story and that is not what life in Brownsville was/is like for everyone who grew up there. I normally devour audiobooks. This one, not so much. I had to take breaks before continuing. I don't know if it's because I was offended or because it got boring. The narrator was excellent and made the book more interesting than it actually was. If I had read it I don't know that I would have finished the book. I did laugh out loud at times and even cried, and in the end I do feel some pride in knowing that this author is from my hometown even if he doesn't feel pride for his hometown.

Historia
The Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. Max Brooks, driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched first-hand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the United States of America and throughout the world, from decimated cities that once teemed with upwards of 30 million souls, to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet.

SCARY!
Revisado: 04-29-13
I got through this book alot faster than I thought I would. The format is more like a written report instead of a novel, like a documentary as opposed to a movie. There is no specific story line, but instead, accounts of events and occurences. The protagonist is interviewing people and taking their statements on their experiences of the war, gathering facts. It's quite interesting and it documents where this decade long war started, how they fought/survived through out the war, and strategies on how it ends. I am curious to see how this will play out in the film that is about to be released.

This was a good suspenseful thriller with lots of twists and turns. The protagonist finds out his one true love's husband died so he decides to go to the funeral in hopes of seeing her again after six years have passed. What he finds at the funeral takes him on a long and wild ride. I never really knew where it was going because the direction kept changing. I liked it!

All I can say is WOW!!
Revisado: 04-22-13
I was quite surprised by the turn of events and blown away with the ending. I never imagined what was to come. I REALLY liked listening to this book. I could relate with the father wanting to do whatever he had to defend his son, who is accused of murder. Being a prosecutor, he knew the ins and outs of the legal system and it was quite interesting. Legal thrillers are my absolute favorite and Defending Jacob is a good one. It was never boring and kept me wanting more until the end. Then I was just like WOW!

Quite a Surprise!
Revisado: 04-17-13
When I read all the reviews of how wonderful this book is, I thought I'd give it a try. I liked it! They were right. It really is a book about rabbits and the adventure they go through to find a new home. It was a nice ride and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I especially liked the author's prologue explaining the whole premise of the book and how he came to write this story. It was really touching. If you've ever wondered whether you should give this book a try, go ahead. I bet you'll like it too. I was quite surprised I liked it as much as I did.
