Historia
In When Christ and His Saints Slept, the first of a trilogy that will tell the story of Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine, master storyteller and historian Sharon Kay Penman illuminates one of the less known but fascinating periods of English history. It begins with the death of King Henry I, son of William the Conqueror and father of Maude, his only living legitimate offspring.

This is probably the worst, most convoluted story I've read/ listened to in years. Seriously. I finished it simply to hear how far the author would go to spin a more bizarre plot line. Don't waste your credits on this one

But the secrets she unveils will expose a darker, more dangerous side of the war–and of her own past.

Historia
When poet and writer Joy Davidman began writing letters to C. S. Lewis - known as Jack - she was looking for spiritual answers, not love. Love, after all, wasn’t holding together her crumbling marriage. Everything about New Yorker Joy seemed ill-matched for an Oxford professor and the beloved writer of The Chronicles of Narnia, yet their minds bonded over their letters.

Far Better Than I Imagined
Revisado: 01-07-19
I had expected this to to be a "short story" with a "cute" ending. Instead I discovered a touching series of stories woven together. While I disagreed with some of the Wiseman's teachings...I found it overall to be a kind, gentle story with thoughtfulness woven in.

Best Book of 100s I've heard
Revisado: 01-04-19
Truly, this book is the most lush, engaging story and reading I've heard of the 100s I've heard over the last decade. This is now my "you've got to read this!" book. It is a book for patience, a book to luxuriate in, a book to feel the joy of the unfolding. It's a smart story...no spoon feeding... and it will connect you to a place and people and times in ways you've not been connected before. This is a book of no regrets and a book of... "How will it end...but please don't let it end!"
