The story was well written as always but Davenport is coming across as an old man and the narrator makes Virgil's voice so high and squeaky it really spoiled the story. The humor that surrounds Virgil wasn't there and that is so part of what I like about his character. I purchased this book because it had Virgil Flowers in the story. The stories written about him are always light hearted and with the special twist of a loveable rogue. I hope there will be more Virgil Flowers stories or a new series completely as I like this author's style and Davenport is fast losing his edge.

Better than the last one

This story was in first person, and it seemed to take away the edge. I love Jack Reacher stories and the narrator always makes it good but the story was lack lustre. The essence that makes Reacher who he is is missing. It's like I'm reading about his ghost. The feeling is there but the guts and glory are gone.

I've read them all and they just keep getting better and better. The story reads like you're watching a movie. Thrilling and so exciting, I sat up all night listening. It's an edge of your seat story laced with breaks of humor. One second you're gripping the edge of your seat, next your laughing. The characters are so real that they become like friends. I'd love to see this series on TV. What are you doing reading this? Go grab a copy, you'll want to read the entire series.

Not Reacher

I felt sorry for Jeff Harding, trying so hard to give us the Reacher we all know and love. He did a great job considering what he had to work with. I purchased this book in good faith that at least some of the, story would reflect the same character as in the rest of the series. I struggled to finished it, The storyline was hard to follow and the thrill level was zero, The Reacher character had been replaced by a cardboard cutout. I'm always ready to give a book a chance and I won't ask for a refund. Will I buy another book from these authors after buying every one in the Jack Reacher series....no.

Wow! Another fast paced thriller from D.K. Hood beautifully brought to life by the talented Patricia Rodriguez. I couldn't put this story down, it kept me awake all night. I just had to find out what happened next. The spellbinding way this author creates her stories is amazing. She has you on the edge of your seat and always leaves you wanting more. LOVED IT!!!!!!

Another winner for D.K. Hood. A very fast paced thriller with a breathtaking story. I couldn't stop listening. I love Kane. Jenna is a lucky sheriff to have him watching her back. This series has a great team of characters that have become real to me as I read the books. The descriptions of Montana are beautiful and despite the serial killers, I'd go live there in a second.

Wow! Don't miss this one.

A fast paced exciting thrill ride. The killer was so evil that by the time I'd finished listening I was out of breath. What an incredible storyline. D.K. Hood just keeps on getting better. I wonder what she'll write next? Whatever, I can't wait a second longer for the next in the series. I've said it before, this series needs to be on TV or in the movies. It is like being there. The author's incredibly skillful writing took me into the story so deeply I had shivers down my spine and couldn't sleep without the lights on. Yes she is THAT darn good.
Do I recommend this book? I wish I could give it 100 stars. If you love a good thriller with believable characters and incredible settings, read it, read all of them in the series and you won't be disappointed.

As usual D.K. Hood delivers a face paced edge of your seat thriller. This story had me wide awake listening to the audio all night. This author has an incredible imagination, fresh ideas and a style of writing that takes you right into the story. It's like watching a movie. Why isn't this author in bookstores? She is better than ANYONE I've read before and I read every bestselling crime author.
Keep writing D.K. I can't wait for more David Kane and Jenna Alton.

Faced paced on the edge of your seat thriller

D.K. Hood does it again. These books just keep getting better and better. I read this straight through and could not put it down. These books would make an amazing TV series. I can't wait for the next book.
