Historia
Brooke Shields has spent a lifetime in the public eye. Growing up as a child actor and model, her every feature was scrutinized, her every decision judged. Today Brooke faces a different kind of scrutiny: that of being a “woman of a certain age.” And yet, for Brooke, the passage of time has brought freedom. At fifty-nine, she feels more comfortable in her skin, more empowered and confident than she did decades ago in those famous Calvin Kleins. Now, in Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old, she’s changing the narrative about women and aging.

Growing old is okay
Revisado: 05-02-25
If you're interested in the story of someone who’s had it all—full of ups and downs—this might be a good read for you. Personally, I found parts of it a bit boring, but that may just reflect how we all grow and relate in different ways. Some people thrive through their challenges, and others stumble, but the journey is always unique.
Fame and fortune don’t always tell the full story, and this book proves that. The truth is what matters most, and the author shares hers in an honest, fashionable, and humorous way that helps keep the pages turning. It probably wasn’t easy to put everything out there, but she did it with grace.
In the end, we’re all turning pages in our own lives—let’s do it with experience, gratitude, and the joy of simply being here on Earth today.

Historia
An ambitious mother puts her art career on hold to stay at home with her newborn son, but the experience does not match her imagination. Two years later, she steps into the bathroom for a break from her toddler's demands, only to discover a dense patch of hair on the back of her neck. In the mirror, her canines suddenly look sharper than she remembers. Her husband, who travels for work five days a week, casually dismisses her fears from faraway hotel rooms.

Weird Story but...
Revisado: 01-25-25
I have never compared myself to a dog while raising my son. Yes, we can feel overwhelmed, not appreciated or just plain ignored at times. the storyline of growing hair onto the body and reacting in a more sexual context is far from early motherhood. but the storylin3 of what a mother goes through and how she needs affection more than sex from her spouse is explained well as the book goes on, it ended better than it started but not a fan! otherwise, I didn't get it.

Historia
When Margaret and her husband Hal bought the large Victorian house on Hawthorn Street—for sale at a surprisingly reasonable price—they couldn’t believe they finally had a home of their own. Then they discovered the hauntings. Every September, the walls drip blood. The ghosts of former inhabitants appear, and all of them are terrified of something that lurks in the basement. Most people would flee. Margaret is not most people. Margaret is staying.

You Have to Get Through it!
Revisado: 10-10-24
reading or listening to gore is not always the best reading ... I went from reading at night to morning to early afternoon... then switched to audible, as I was re-reading thinking I missed something. The book jumps quite a bit so once you figure that out, it is easier to LISTEN to. I couldn't read it, audible was necessary. BUT I had to find out what happened! Scary or suspenseful yes, I hate blood and the walls bleeding was only a small part but continous. enjoy your future Septembers!

Courage and strength in a girl becoming a woman
Revisado: 10-10-24
I thought the story of this girl who became a woman all to become famous making herself known and finding love in all the right but wrong places. she grew up fast and was witty and stubborn to make a name of herself. finding real love is hard, she opened up and finally found it and then lost it but never gave up. wonderful story. make a movie, I will watch it!

was not sure what to expect
Revisado: 06-11-24
This book was eye opening to me, as a Christian, as a Mom. For the reasons of what pro-life vs pro-choice decisions are made and should it be the individuals choice and not the governments? As a Christian, that's what made me think that Pro Choice could win due to what the circumstances of that persons choice should matter and we are not the ones to judge, only God can and will be the judge!

Historia
Lydia Quixano Pérez lives in the Mexican city of Acapulco. She runs a bookstore. She has a son, Luca, the love of her life, and a wonderful husband who is a journalist. And while there are cracks beginning to show in Acapulco because of the drug cartels, her life is, by and large, fairly comfortable. When Lydia’s husband’s tell-all profile of Javier, the jefe of the newest drug cartel that has gruesomely taken over the city, is published, none of their lives will ever be the same.

What we believe is not happening
Revisado: 06-04-24
The book was easier to listen to than to read and the audible helped me tremendously on pronunciation of different areas, names etc ... beside this, I opened my eyes to the unknown, This happens right at our border, We as citizens complain and disagree with the illegal crossing. We know it's for a better life for many but the ones that hurt it, are the terrorists, cartel and other groups that we want to stay out. Reading about this story of something that could of happened to more than half of those who cross illegally, I wosh there was an easier way and I think it's still wrong, I have sympathy. The novel did help me understand and I felt I was one of them while reading. Good book, I laughed, I cried more.
