Unexpectedly pleasant

This story caught me off guard. I usually don’t read such heavy books, but even though you ached for the characters, it was funny, charming and thoughtful. My only criticism would be that the plot twist was done in an slightly unbelievable way.

Good but…

I love this series and I was excited to see that Cliffs story was going to be told, however, I was disappointed with a few things. One, was Cliff’s personality, demeanor, etc. Don’t get me wrong, he was great guy, just, and this is kind of hard to explain without it possibly getting sticky. His character didn’t strike me as believable as 1). A black male 2). A young vamp.

It was kind of like he was written similarly to one of the Immortals. His speech did not match his timeline. Some of the phrases and words he used were not believable to his “time”. And, and this can be debated as not being authentic to the character the writer wanted him to be, and that would be fair, he had no grit or what I like to call swagger.

As a black woman I guess I was just expecting him to be different than the other characters and someone I would be “attracted” to, not that I am not attracted to the others. I mean hello!!! Seth, is a dream I don’t want to wake up from!! I was just expecting a different type of sexy.

All that aside, still great and well written!! Also love the way Kirsten reads, but Cliffs voice was not my favorite, he kind of sounded like a teenager. But I know it is not easy for a women to read a man’s part and it not sound terrible or forced, so still awesome!!

Good but

I have to say, I was a little disappointed in this one in comparison to the first book. The story lacked some sense of connection between the couple. The writing was great, and the narrator did a pretty good game with it. Although, yes, as others have reviewed, she will need to work on her voice while doing male characters. Ultimately, it may have been a great story, I just did not connect with it as I did the first. It was hard to get invested in this.

Well written but not what I was searching for

I’ll admit, I am biased because I read Theo’s book first. The book was well written and narrated, but I did found it a little difficult to get through. The narration was excellent and wouldn’t gotten 5 stars, but the female leads voice lended to her sounding whiny the whole book. The story was ok but lacked the upward climb in tension to keep the reader’s attention. I will admit this pace may not be my cup of tea, which is why I give the overall, 4 stars. Keep them coming though, would love to read more!

Loved it, best book I've read from this author yet and that's saying something cuz Big South is my literary dream man. Layers of depth to the characters. Bravo! Nikki is everything and so is Dam!

I Really struggled to get through it, even though it was so short. The narrator's voice was not right for this story, nor was the acting believable. The story itself felt rushed, as if the writter were trying to cram a believable love story into the two and a half hour space. The story doesn't give enough to make the characters relatable or connectable. I did sign want to fall in love with the love interest but couldn't. I couldn't even like any of the characters. Good effort, but lacks much...

The leading male character lacks passion and interest.

Would you recommend The Vampire's Mail Order Bride to your friends? Why or why not?

I probably wouldn't, it was cute but not memorable.

What does B.J. Harrison bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I liked his interpretation of the lead female character. His sass was funny.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

A little more heat, better plot.

The only qualm I have with this book us that I wanted more..more..more!! I prefer longer stories so I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this...and the narrator was spectacular...

I lost interest in this story early on. It was ok..it's not one that I would come back to. I did not care for the character of Dante and the love making scenes were lacking in intensity.I also think that it should have been read by someone who sounded younger
