Historia
Adrift in the wake of her father's death, a failed marriage, and multiple miscarriages, Libby McKenzie feels truly alone. Though her new life as a wedding photographer provides a semblance of purpose, it's also a distraction from her profound pain. When asked to photograph a wedding at the historic Woodmont estate, Libby meets the owner, Elaine Grant. Hoping to open Woodmont to the public, Elaine has employed young widower Colton Reese to help restore the grounds and asks Libby to photograph the process.

Nikki Haley is widely admired for her forthright manner (“with all due respect, I don’t get confused”), her sensitive approach to tragic events, and her confident representation of America’s interests as our ambassador to the United Nations during times of crisis and consequence. In this book, Haley offers a firsthand perspective on major national and international matters as well as a behind-the-scenes account of her tenure in the Trump administration.

Unafraid to make the challenge
Revisado: 12-27-19
For all intents and purposes, I need to make the disclaimer that I am a fan of Ambassador Haley.
There were no holes barred with the author's frankness. Her explanation of the ins and outs of the United Nations was enlightening. I was pleased she wrote about her standing to men of power, i.e. Tillson, Sharpe, Rominey, Trump. She is very well of her positive aspects and how to work through her negative aspects. This book had me longing for more, enough I learned much in the contents.

Historia
When Olivia Shaw’s mother dies, the sophisticated food editor is astonished to learn she’s inherited a centuries-old English estate—and a title to go with it. Raw with grief and reeling from the knowledge that her reserved mother hid something so momentous, Olivia leaves San Francisco and crosses the pond to unravel the mystery of a lifetime. One glance at the breathtaking Rosemere Priory and Olivia understands why the manor, magnificent even in disrepair, was the subject of her mother’s exquisite paintings. What she doesn’t understand is why her mother never mentioned it.

The Twists and Turns
Revisado: 12-24-19
The twists and turns were subtle, but enough to keep my interests. The story line could have gone on more and I would not have become board. The storyline was not difficult to follow, but complex enough to maintain a high peak of interest. I longed for more.

I have read much about the Holocaust. This is the first I have read from the perspective of a survivor. All I can say is WoW. This should be required reading for everyone single person. So well written. Emotional and insightful.

Do not like the Narrator
Revisado: 12-19-19
I have read many Nora Robert's books, usually they were love stories. I first encountered this narrator with the book Educated. The narrator is not bother me so much then. But with this book, the narrator has not changed in style. The unanitimated demeanor of the narrator began bothering me. Then I heard the endearment "baby" time and time again. With this evidence piling on - one on top of another - until finally I heard enough. I tagged the book as completed before the conclusion. I am now going to pay attention to who the is the chosen narrator's in future books. If narrator is the narrator of a possible I am skipping over the audio book.
As for the story. Ms. Robert's did not provide any history of how the story and characters got where they were. What catastrophic event caused the change in the world? This was not addressed in the story. In that this part of the story was empty. With this being my first choice of sci-fi from Nora Roberts, I am less likely to make a similar choice in the future. I am not impressed.

Revisado: 09-30-19
This is a well written story. I enjoy reading historical fiction. This historical fiction makes this a heartfelt tale based on actual events. This brings to like that things aren't they what they are supposed to be. I was so taken by this book, I could not stop listening.

Historia
With his now-legendary store on 125th Street in Harlem, Dapper Dan pioneered high-end streetwear in the 1980s, remixing classic luxury-brand logos into his own innovative, glamorous designs. But before he reinvented haute couture, he was a hungry boy with holes in his shoes, a teen who daringly gambled drug dealers out of their money, and a young man in a prison cell who found nourishment in books. In this remarkable memoir, he tells his full story for the first time.

I learned so much. my ancestral lines include at least one freed slave. I am read/listening to learn. Dapper Dan is a very enterprising man who has not let society hold him back. His words also revealed the envelopment of family each person's value. kudos to Mr. Day. Through all that he has endured he is able tell his story of success with eloquence.

It might have been better to have the author narrate the introduction and have someone else narrate the book.
I do wanted to listen the entire book, but it just became intolerable for me.

Historia
Reese Witherspoon’s grandmother Dorothea always said a combination of beauty and strength made Southern women “whiskey in a teacup”. We may be delicate and ornamental on the outside, she said, but inside, we’re strong and fiery. Reese’s Southern heritage informs her whole life, and she loves sharing the joys of Southern living with practically everyone she meets. She takes the South wherever she goes with bluegrass, big holiday parties, and plenty of Dorothea’s fried chicken.
