Downshifting the story into 1st gear
Revisado: 01-20-22
Bringing an ignorant family into the world of magic and shadowy government bureaucracy both just bogged down the story. The story had finally started to get moving in book three, but these hurdles brought everything to a grinding halt.

Arek cooks lasagna, and tops it with a dash of finely chopped basil. An orc who has seen more than his fair amount of fighting, Arek wants nothing more than to spend the rest of his days cooking and away from the chaos of combat. However, when Ming and her group of adventurers hire him as their full-time chef, his plans of avoiding violence crumble. He longs to leave his blood-soaked mistakes in his past, but old friends and foes have different ideas.

The chef angle is an interesting take that I really enjoyed, and the LITRPG isn't overly pushed.

Historia
The Wandering Inn has a princess who solves problems rather than creates them, and her name is Lyonette. Yet what happens when the innkeeper returns to manage her inn? Lyonette must learn to be a good employee rather than manage everything herself, and sharing power is never easy.... Nor is it ever simple in war, but that is where Geneva Scala remains. In bloodier and increasingly brutal battlefields, The Last Light of Baleros is now growing in fame, but there is no future there.

Needs more focus
Revisado: 12-12-21
The main narrative of Erin and the city of Liscor is great, but the story starts to lag when Pirateaba goes off on the world building side stories. The world building wouldn't be so bad if it didn't take up half-third of the book and take place on the other side of the world. I do hope that Pirateaba starts to focus more because once again it feels that the main narrative has barely moved.

At the same time, Ryoka Griffin is far from what she would consider to be “home”. Deep in the north, in the city of Invrisil, she finds herself as the guest of Magnolia Reinhart.

Getting slogged down

The main story is great, but barely progressed because a third to half of the book being dedicated to the backstory of a couple of side characters.

A fine story with a few technical issues.
Revisado: 02-23-20
The story was fine but with all the jumping around between perspectives the sequence of events can get a bit muddled. There were also a couple of audio issues in Ch. 4 but other than that it was fine. I look forward to seeing where the story goes from here.

Historia
Evil returns to Pelenor. The court of shadows will reign. The revolution has begun. Dimitri raised Saradon willingly; but now he realises that time, hate, and the darkest of magics have twisted a revolutionary into an evil that seeks dominion over all. Dimitri is bound to Saradon’s cause, no matter the abhorrent acts Saradon already commits. The dwarven realm of Valtivar shall be the first to fall to the feral scourge of goblins, followed by the crumbling kingdom of Pelenor, unless Dimitri can somehow twist his orders to avert the death of both nations before it is too late.
