Great Reader BUT,,,,,,,
Revisado: 06-20-18
This reader is just not familiar with the genre. He calls MI6 (M sixteen) not (MI six), he mispronounces weapon caliber and in general seems unfamiliar with the whole genre. I know not every book of this type can be read by George Guidall or Scott Brick but wow. I could not finish this book. This reader would be great for soap opera emotional type books, like Oh my god, what should we do, Betty and Veronica did not make it back by curfew. He puts emotion into a character that isn't supposed to have emotions.
I remembered after starting the book I had done book 1 and had the same opinion but in the rush to grab a new book in a hurry I goofed and bought this book which I am returning.
I wish I had the time and patience to sit and read this book but, oh well.
I do wish this talented reader, or voice actor if you prefer, great ongoing success, but, please find your genre.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, good story, well researched and start of what looks like it will have a reoccurring hero.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration was annoying at times. The reader is very talented with great characterzations. His issue is he changes volume often. He starts yelling to create suspense or show excitement / danger, whispers to show show quiet danger. He does the volume changes often enough that you are constantly having to adjust the volume. Very annoying while driving and when using ear plugs at the gym.

Way beyond reality
Revisado: 11-17-14
Would you try another book from Andrew Peterson and/or Dick Hill?
Yes but...... You must suspend your reality check list with this one. I generally like this type of book, especially Vince Flynn's works. However, this book by Andrew Peterson uses our hero just a little, or a lot, depending on you view, in a very unrealistic way far to many times. I can't point out much without spoilers. Dick Hill is a great reader / performer but in this one he just over does the hysterical parts with a lot of whining by the character.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Drug out and very predictable.
Which character – as performed by Dick Hill – was your favorite?
Nathan
Do you think Option to Kill needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No. Listen to it and you will know why.

Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Nothing but Touchy Feely
Revisado: 09-20-13
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I can't think of a thing. This book was selected by my wife for a road trip. BIG mistake for just about any guy and she couldn't finish it either. This book was so bad even my wife after struggling through the first part, thinking it was a one part book, said oh no no no and shut it off. Neither of us could finish the book. No real story other than a missing wife in the first third of the book.
What was most disappointing about Gillian Flynn’s story?
I do not intend to sound like a sexist but, this is purely a Chick Book. It is all about characters feelings and emotions and what did she/he mean by that, oh my god how can she deal with that, how does that make you feel and why do you feel that way, how will that effect your relationship blah blah blah.
Did Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Yes, very much so.

Great Story - Bad Read
Revisado: 03-20-12
Once again Vince Flynn puts forth an excellent story. The problem with this book is the reader. I do not intend to mislead, he is an excellent reader with all the necessary skills. It is his interpretation of the characters that misses the mark.
The reader uses a high pitched stressful voice for Mitch, and others, something that just does not fit the characters. In fact his interpretation of the characters voice pitch and over excited voices seriously detracts from the character and the story.
I think I will buy the print book so I can enjoy this book as much as I have enjoyed the others I have listened to.

Historia
Critics and fans alike welcomed the return of the "shrewd, sharp, rousing" (Kirkus Reviews) Men at War series. Now, Dick Canidy and colleagues in the Office of Strategic Services face an even greater task - to convince Hitler and the Axis powers that the invasion of the European continent will take place anywhere but on the beaches of Nazi-occupied France. "Wild Bill" Donovan’s men have several tactics in mind, but some of the people they must use are not the most reliable, so the deceptions require layer upon layer of intrigue.
