Historia
Christopher Kerr is a hospice doctor. All of his patients die. Yet, he has cared for thousands of patients who, in the face of death, speak of love and grace. Beyond the physical realities of dying are unseen processes that are remarkably life-affirming. Drawing on interviews with over 1,400 patients and more than a decade of quantified data, Dr. Kerr reveals that pre-death dreams and visions are extraordinary occurrences that humanize the dying process.

Death as we never see it
Revisado: 08-31-24
Loved the view of death in a very elegant and non-frightening way. We all will eventually get there and this gives me hope that I will have “dreams” that lead me to a peaceful end. I really enjoyed the story of the man with autism. I have a son with autism and often wonder how they perceived death and dying. Everyone is the same in the end.

Historia
Beloved former ABC 20/20 anchor Elizabeth Vargas reveals her alcohol addiction and anxiety disorder in a shockingly honest and emotional memoir. From the moment she uttered the brave and honest words, "I am an alcoholic," to interviewer George Stephanopoulos, Elizabeth Vargas began writing her story, as her experiences were still raw. Now, in Between Breaths, Vargas discusses her accounts of growing up with anxiety—which began suddenly at the age of six when her father served in Vietnam.

Very personal
Revisado: 05-14-24
Elizabeth really does open the curtain and lets you in to see all the good, bad and ugly of how life can be. So many times alcohol can destroy peoples lives and it is nice to see someone open up about how to keep on keeping on, even when you fail.

Very interesting but…
Revisado: 07-09-23
Overall this was a very interesting story of a girl who had many trials and tribulations due to her upbringing. She does make great strides and that is amazing. The only complaint I have which I have seen another person complain about is that she describes herself as a nurse many times in the book, but she is not a nurse. She was a CST-certified scrub tech and these are 2 very different positions. They are both important in the OR but nurses have many more years of training. It really bothered me and should have been changed prior to publication.

Just not what I thought it would be
Revisado: 11-27-22
At first I was like yes this will be good but the. It was just whining and dramatic. Save you money. You have seen all of this in the tabloids. Sorry Matthew I really did want to like it.

Amazing
Revisado: 03-05-21
This is a great book! Couldn’t pry myself away after getting into the first chapter. When people say they are here for a purpose.....they really are here for one and Nikki found his with this book. I haven’t been an addict in the past but I can see where this would talk to you if you are/were one. This book made me feel like I was in high school again. Thanks for the memories and glad you made it out alive....

Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Good but dragged
Revisado: 03-27-18
This was a good book to listen to as I enjoyed the performer but parts of the story were extraneous and dragged out some to the point I zoned out. I hate doing that when I pay for a book.
