Wow that was really terrible.
Revisado: 04-11-25
Sooooo the premise of this book is that one person can borrow or steal another persons pulse to get more life.
If you can get past that then the plot is pretty much a sappy teen story book.
If you can get past that the reader reads like a whiny teen girl.
I could go on but I’ll just say this is a waste of a credit.

Historia
Shuggie’s mother Agnes walks a wayward path: She is Shuggie’s guiding light but a burden for him and his siblings. She dreams of a house with its own front door while she flicks through the pages of the Freemans catalogue, ordering a little happiness on credit, anything to brighten up her grey life. Married to a philandering taxi-driver husband, Agnes keeps her pride by looking good - her beehive, make-up, and pearly-white false teeth offer a glamourous image of a Glaswegian Elizabeth Taylor.

Revisado: 03-23-25
The narrator was excellent. The story was just depressing. There was not a single uplifting moment. Just grim lives.

This is a pretty ok YA adventure. Narrator has weird pauses
Revisado: 08-15-24
The story was pretty good hunger games type. The narrator has a really weird speaking cadence and pronounces the same word differently from sentence to sentence. It gets distracting.

A decade ago, the company announced that they had found the gene that pairs each of us with our soul mate. Since then, millions of people around the world have been matched. Wait, did I just buy a harlequin romance novel??
Revisado: 02-05-23
As romance stories go, it’s ok. As action stories go, it’s terrible.
The story starts out with so much promise as a suspense novel then devolves quickly into an insipid love story complete with reluctant lovers and a non existent plot.
Not for me. Wish I could get my credit back.
