Historia
During her more than 30 years of performing in the United States, Lillie Langtry came into contact with numerous men and women who are now legends. She was the mistress of Edward Albert, Prince of Wales and future King of England, then turned her talents to acting, her ultimate triumph. At first people came to see her out of curiosity, but she quickly won them over with her beauty, charm and personality if not her acting talent.

The life of the subject brought alive
Revisado: 04-06-25
Lillie was a most fascinating woman. Hearing her thoughts through her diary was amazing. What took away from the experience was the reader’s continued mispronunciation of names and words. I thought at first is was an affectation of Mrs. Langtry but she would have never mispronounced a friend’s name.

Fabulous story but reader needs to research
Revisado: 04-26-18
The story captured an age that will never come again. A fascinating part of the tale was the introduction of famous people. If Ms Robins was unfamiliar with the infamous Talulah Bankhead, there were written descriptions of her throaty laugh and signature pronouncement of “dahling “. Her giddy soprano interpretation was a disappointment.
